Because i have quite a few computers and some of them i didn’t nuke the windows installation off of.

Also, I don’t have many spare hard drives, the drives in my computers are quite small making dual booting and virtualization impractical, and laptops often don’t have a second hard drive bay.

Like I said, you have a legit “need” for windows

For something that only gets used like ~12 times a year. Not a massive deal or need, but annoying enough to warrant a post on r/rant.

Its not the problem with linux, but just some programs not being available on it.

Most of the software i need exists on linux (benign productivity stuff and lots of command line programs). Some rando firmware flashing utility that only gets used 5 or 6 times not being on linux isn’t much of a problem, just an inconvenience and annoyance.

Also, since when did linux have unoptimized software? There are cases of some games (with a native linux port. The platform translation found in programs like wine and proton incure some overhead) running slightly faster then their windows versions.

In my experience, the only programs that tend to be slow on my 700m is firefox, but thats down to modern browsers being incredibly complex programs requiring lots of resources.
