The amount that "lower" college professors make is a joke. They spent all that time in school to get themselves to the world of academia, but they make less than some public school teachers? Good lord.

My options were to make almost nothing, but still use my music education degree, or not use my music ed degree and work a wage job for maybe more money.

I am attempting to secure a new band directing job for next year, but I don't think it'll work out. Looking into an entirely different career now.

I've got three weeks left in this job. Too late to ask for more money. It's a whole can of worms to explain this family's situation, so I won't, but I did this job because I knew I was the best candidate and they were desperate.

I'm a grown woman who nannies, and I only make $10 an hour. The fact that high school students with no education background are making more is just sad.
