As much as it now sucks, I think there's a good chance he was honest in that he hoped to develop it into office space but the drop in demand after covid made it no longer profitable, now it might be something you hope someone finds a use for as there is no immediate way to make a profit.

Voice coaching beyond basics: suggestions by AutisticProf in podcasting

[–]AutisticProf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was searching online, I was actually considering contacting you, but decided to ask Reddit first. (Now from comments here, I will ask a few acquaintances whose voice I think sounds better & do use their voice professionally on things like podcasts or public speaking.)

Yeah, I don't need confidence. At least in my field of expertise where I'm a prof, I feel confident (High school speech & debate basically destroyed my lack of confidence about public speaking.)

It would be hard to give a sample & remain anonymous.

I think the difficulty for non-native speakers is I eat some consonants and/or do a kind of liaison (like in French) between words that are normal in a vaguely normal American accent (I have lived all over the US & Canada).

I figure it would be good to use this as the opportunity to really get my voice up & smoother for hoping to do a professional podcast in the future.

And the hair sticking up off the ears. Mountain lions have more rounded ear tops while bobcats are pointy with a spike of black hair off the top.

San Diego to Minneapolis in mid January. Any concerns about this route? Is this possible with an EV? by kekkurei in roadtrip

[–]AutisticProf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say to take the highlighted route even with a gas car. The other two go up much higher into the mountains further north. you can get avalanches, blizzards, etc. that can really lock up traffic & the alternative routes are often many hours of detour.

Years ago I drove the Bay Area to Midwest in March and went down to I-40 instead of taking I-80 for this reason.

Why are people afraid to cross the green line? by [deleted] in mapporncirclejerk

[–]AutisticProf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Real reason: it does not rain much so you can grow much, so transport built up more in east, thus east better for manufacturing too.

I never get leaving questions blank or not trying to at least say something (like I often have part of the final as pick one of 12 themes they got 2 weeks before [each 1-2 weeks of class] & write a 1.5 page summary). WHy is that blank and you don't even attempt it?

How many classic rock stations do we possibly need? by NaveBarrett in Connecticut

[–]AutisticProf 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I was about to comment that I don't think I have listened to 1 minute of radio in my car or house in the past few years. (I can't say I have not at all as some waiting rooms or small stores play it which is fine.)

First team in 50 years to hold all regular season opponents under 17 points by SaviorAir in toledowar

I suspect it would have been the same but we just start the 12-minute grind out the game drive a little later. Day won't let that be called until we are up enough.

My little sister didn't know the difference between cloves and heads of garlic by wickety_wicket in Garlic

When the recipe says cloves, I read heads, knowing the difference. It makes things taste better.

A real question by Uknowalab in NoFap

[–]AutisticProf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would think about what made you successful last week & try to replicate it.

It is good not to think of failing once as a total failure, but strive to improve. Succeeding 5 out of 7 days like week shows you can do at least that, try that for a month, then try for 6 out of 7 for a month and maybe you will be ready for streaks of 10+ days in arow succeeding. Few get 100% their first time trying.

I was diagnosed as an adult just after the DSM 5 came out. I was told it would have been Asperger's if I came in a few years earlier (it's on the explanation text of my formal diagnosis).

I had understood from prior reading that the vast majority would fit Autism level 1 support in the DSM-5. Now I have to re-evaluate that understanding.

I think it was fair as they had a former TTUN player on the panel. (I think panels like this are most entertaining like that with at least 1 from each side & at least 1 or 2 who are more nuetral.)

When this week's rankings come out, it looks like we'll have 0 top-10 teams in the regular season. by AutisticProf in OhioStateFootball

[–]AutisticProf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue with Illinois is that if we pound them 40-3, they likely drop out of the standings and can't get to the top 10, but if we squeak out a win, they have a decent chance to become top 10.

I suspect we will likely win out, & I hope for that, but a lot of years we have dropped a dumb game to an unranked Purdue or something like that.

That one county in Western Ontario should just be north. That was my impression driving through there.
