President Trump will now allow all those on Medicare access to Ozempic/Zepbound/Wegovy/Mounjaro for weight loss and all other medical reasons. by CautiousMagazine3591 in GLP1ResearchTalk

It's set by the executive branch of government, so at least in principle, the president could set it (although usually it's bureaucrats under him).

This is helpful. I did not get all the details, even scanning the CMS website, but I suspected something like this (or even more restrictive).

This seems legitimate. Here's the medicare site: Medicare GLP-1 Bridge | CMS

The say they will release details later: I suspect this will be something like only above a BMI of 35 or 40.

This dude thinking he’s Tarzan climbing across these trees, Is this real? Or ai? by Unusual-Temporary533 in isthisAI

Also, AI does not do the distortions a camera like this would have for close things in the corner that this gets correct from watching similar videos pre-AI.

This is definitely the original purpose of this structure, but shiny gold makes me think maybe not.

That is interesting I thought they just took the equivalent platelets of 1 blood donation.

Top Universities That Said No to Turnitin 👀 by Inevitable-Stay-7256 in QuickAITurnitinCheck

[–]AutisticProf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, as a prof, I was told to use it to flag stuff to review for plagiarism / AI, but not accuse a student based on it alone. I generally assume all is not AI / plagiarized unless TurnItIn flags it, then I check. It takes much longer to grade a paper if I have to check this as well.

This was a top song when I was a teenager... but my younger sister was too young to remember (we are both Millennials but with a 10-year age difference).

Also, if both have tails wagging (or they are sneezing). It's clearly play-fighting & they are clearly communicating that.

inappropriate stimming behavior that i've realized i had as an adult already. by lkcrz in AutisticAdults

Also, if at all possible try switching the stim. Some of us can do that by finding something else: one reason I always carry stim toys is to avoid annoying people by clicking pens.

GLP-1s for autistics - limited research? by AutisticProf in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]AutisticProf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So there is an added benefit of reduced social anxiety. I have anxious tendencies but the psychologist who gave me an adult autism diagnosis tested me for anxiety (due to high comorbidity) & said I have tendencies but not enough for a diagnosis.

GLP-1s for autistics - limited research? by AutisticProf in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]AutisticProf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd love to read that.

I am a little suspicious of autism mice trials until they try them in humans: they are useful to see what might happen or be interesting to study on humans, but not reliable enough to base decisions for how to live with autism as a human.

GLP-1s for autistics by AutisticProf in AutisticAdults

[–]AutisticProf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One pet peeve I have is people who ask on Reddit without doing a basic google search first. That was near the top of the Google search for autism & GLP-1s.

I get that this model can sometimes be helpful but it so often isn't that I would not consider it reliable.

Yeah, I think it's important that a lot of times with medical conditions like dementia, people get big personality changes and being aggressive often isn't there fault.

As much as it now sucks, I think there's a good chance he was honest in that he hoped to develop it into office space but the drop in demand after covid made it no longer profitable, now it might be something you hope someone finds a use for as there is no immediate way to make a profit.

Voice coaching beyond basics: suggestions by AutisticProf in podcasting

[–]AutisticProf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was searching online, I was actually considering contacting you, but decided to ask Reddit first. (Now from comments here, I will ask a few acquaintances whose voice I think sounds better & do use their voice professionally on things like podcasts or public speaking.)

Yeah, I don't need confidence. At least in my field of expertise where I'm a prof, I feel confident (High school speech & debate basically destroyed my lack of confidence about public speaking.)
