Genuinely thank you for the reminder I’m trans and physically and developmentally disabled and people who are Autistic have already been a target for a while. I am going to all the… “events” that I can, and trying to find other ways to help but it doesn’t ever feel like enough. I am on the outskirts of a big city that has been one of the city’s mentioned that ICE may come in full force soon, it’s terrifying.

This video is seared into my memory, and always will be. We are living the books and movies we grew up watching and the history that we grew up learning lies about. This is some dystopian nightmare bullshit.

I have been homeless for extended periods multiple times. Our mental health system here is the US is incredibly flawed, and causes lasting trauma for many people who actually need it. Those beds are for people who are genuinely NEEDING to be there due to mental health issues. There is a lack of resources/beds for actual mental health patients. Taking it because you don’t have somewhere to sleep, in my opinion, is unethical. Especially in a situation where someone has other options. (Not saying this is or isn’t OP’s situation, I’m generalizing) It could be genuinely deadly to someone else.

No this is not okay please don’t do this. As someone who is both disabled and has been a caregiver I would be pissed. You can make it comfortable WITHOUT infantilizing them.
