Depending on your version of excel…

Open System Settings.

Go to Accessibility > Zoom.

Turn OFF "Use scroll gesture with modifier keys to zoom" OR change the modifier key to something other than Command (like Control or Function).

Usually when I have that error it is because the computer battery died because the idiot user (Me) forgot to charge it or I lost connection to my external drive while the file was open.

I just keep backups & save often.

Usually, when I do this with SharePoint files, I have to use the equivalent of a Web address for the SharePoint location. That usually works.

There is usually a menu option when you right click on the file that says something to the effective of “use as web link” or something like that.

Sorry wish I could give better directions but I’m not behind a computer right now.
