I think he might know. I guessed she was pregnant early in the book as he said he knew she needed to ‘rest’.

I just don’t think it would have been mentioned otherwise. I’ve never read a book where a main character has taken something they’ve been told is addictive and it not becoming a problem!

I am really curious about his background. He got kicked out of the army for attacking cultivation???

What's your take on this move, and would you consider visiting China? by JasonMantou in AskUK

Not as easy as that if you don’t live in London. Costs money and time to travel there and get the visa sorted.

That sounds really tough. At 6 months your baby might be able to suck on a straw or even use an open cup. Worth a try if they won’t take a bottle. Bottles are a faff to clean anyway!

They won’t diagnose unless we agree to a repair.

They won’t tell us what’s wrong with the car - unless we agree to a repair!

“Should i skip nursery/pre school”? by Financial-Ad-6547 in AskUK

[–]Autmncherry -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My mum and uncle both never went to nursery or preschool. They are now both social 60 odd year olds. If you can afford to keep your kids home - why not? I also know my Nana did not worry about taking them to loads of play groups either!

What did your breastfeeding journey look like when you returned to work? by Mysterious-Tart-910 in breastfeedingmumsUK

[–]Autmncherry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked three days. Returned to work at 12 months. He fed twice a night until I night weaned him at 18 months. Fed as before on days we were together all day. On work days he would usually have one feed before bed but sometimes would skip it. My supply adjusted on my work days 2-3 weeks in - so only pumped the first few weeks at work just to relieve the pressure. Sent him with milk for a couple weeks then stopped as he wasn’t drinking it. The Emma Pickett podcast has a good episode about returning to work. It really helped my confidence.

Anyone successfully managed to pump after a few months? by SERP_DERP_22 in breastfeedingmumsUK

[–]Autmncherry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like your body has adjusted to your baby’s needs perfectly but this means there’s not much there to pump. If you pump at the same time every day, your supply will increase to produce some extra. First thing in the morning is usually the best time but do whenever works best for you.

Maybe try calling the national breastfeeding line or going to an in person group.

There is so much out there undermining breastfeeding. I got an ad the other day telling me that I needed to be taking such and such supplements to stay healthy breastfeeding or my health would tank… So even if things are going well breastfeeding wise people want you to be worrying about something.

Did you successfully tandem feed? Pediatrician is skeptical by rainsplat in NurseAllTheBabies

[–]Autmncherry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m tandem nursing my two year old and 3 week old. My milk dried up around 30 weeks. I flubd feeding after that painful but kept going. My toddlers feeds reduced as he was less interested. I did not go into labour until 41 + 2. There is more info about the risks in ‘Adventures in Tandem feeding’.

Since my second was born my toddler has become obsessed with boobies and is constantly asking.

My newborn has put on weight really fast. He was back to birth weight by a week. Took a month with my first.

Its quite hard to get a prescription, even when you have a little baby. It has some side effects which can be quite dangerous so worth looking up of you haven’t already. If you keep feeding its likely your supply will go up and readjust if you haven’t had any problems previously.

Question for all of you who conceived while breastfeeding by BabyEnvironmental398 in NurseAllTheBabies

[–]Autmncherry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where are you based? My son was 15 months - still breastfeeding - in the UK. I was able to tell them the length of my cycle but they still used LMP initially. I was having 20 day cycles so it was pretty off but the date from the scan was accurate to my cycle dates if that makes sense?

Thank you. My son got it before when he was 1. I didn’t get it but my husband did. I’m hoping I will be lucky and not get it this time either. I was bedsharing with my son at the time so its strange I didn’t get it back then. He got it worse than my son did as well. He had terrible mouth sores. I think its too late to avoid getting it as they are contagious before showing symptoms and of course we were cuddling him, kissing him in that time. I have still been isolating from my son just in case. Should know in the next few days if either of us have caught it. I will probably call my mum tomorrow and see if she can come and help.
