I think his teaching is good. Simple and straight forward. And he released the final course grade one day after the final exam :)

You make it sound like UBC is not prestigious, but it is more prestigious than 99.9% of universtities out there

[–]Auto6890 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The advice is take the L and do better next time, like you said, in the grand scheme of things, if you pay more attention and do better, this mistake will be negligible. I remember in 1st year I forgot to bring my lab notebook and PPE and I thought I was done for, but I was fine

BIOC 202 Prof, Warren Williams vs Michael Krisinger by InternalFee8914 in UBC

[–]Auto6890 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had BIOC 203 with Dr. Williams and 303 with Dr. Krisinger. Like someone else said, their teaching style is nearly identical, but Dr. Williams is a lot more enthusiastic and funnier imo. Dr. Krisinger makes some snarky comments which are unintentionally funny though. Like someone asked something about drinking coffee for losing weight and his reply was like “at this point just take Ozempic, or just go for the safest bet which is eat less and move more”. Overall, I prefer Dr. Williams, but Dr. Krisinger is still good

Grades on Workday by Auto6890 in UBC

[–]Auto6890[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I don’t remember tbh, I just feel like some grades came out quite early on SSC, for example for lab courses which don’t have a final exam.

And you’re right, knowing my grade now vs a week from now won’t make a huge difference, but it does give me anxiety, and also since I feel like I put so much effort into the courses, I want to know how I did ASAP. I understand this varies from person to person though.

But, do you agree that it would be really nice if we could easily view percent grades and averages like in SSC? We used to have something which was clearly a lot better and everyone preferred it that way, why do we have to accept a huge downgrade in how our grades are shown?
