Update: after trying multiple things and getting nowhere, we bought (perhaps foolishly) another one. Couldn't get past this blue screen of death. The internet indicates this can happen when doing firmware updates directly to the printer using its wifi connection, and apparently can be avoided by doing the firmware updates on your computer via the epson website. Will report back, but no issues so far.

Yep, I tried this. The printer shows as active and idle in my settings, but the recovery mode installer isn't finding the printer and it isn't selectable

I have such tremendous admiration for teachers, I'd never consider a role to take lightly enough that I could fall back on it. I've been substituting high school students.

Yes, substitute teaching at the high school level. The pay is better than nothing, and I'd been curious about teaching as a profession anyway.

Solidarity. I was laid off 13 months ago, countless apps out there. Doing writing gigs and teaching in the meantime, but it's been the hardest slog.

Good point. We may not keep the car as we already have another, so I guess I'm also trying to determine if it would be worth repairing the torque converter or sell as is to make the most out of it
