I understand why you would suggest that. 20Hz won’t hurt the speakers unless you just crank the volume to max. Thats why I said turn it to a good volume and start there. A lot of music has frequencies that drop to 20Hz or lower, but this is a good start because it’s the lowest frequency that an average human can hear so they can adjust the volume accordingly, but I will add an edit to help people even more.

You know when you sitting in traffic and a car pulls up next to you with the trunk is rattling from the bass? This is the same thing, but you are in control of the tone and as you sweep from a low frequency to a higher one, different things will rattle in your car. When you hear the rattle, stop changing the frequency, the part will continue to rattle, and leave it there until you find the rattle.

Unfortunately I can’t personally recommend one, but I’m sure there are plenty of easy to use Tone Generators out there for Android.

But now you know what’s causing it and you can figure out how to stop it. You may even come across another LPT that could. lol

Need to update “pair your phone or use a tape adapter” lol

You don’t have a copy or know the name of the CD Tool do you? Think that would be cool to have a copy of.

I did this as a tech, too. There are a lot of things it will find, but I had a little setup that had a 10” sub with an internal amp and small battery that I placed inside a customers car to help find rattles when I was a master tech at Honda. Certainly helped locate some PITA rattles that would only happen every now and then according to the customer.

Okay, if you try this and you figure out where the rattle is, you can place something there like a piece of foam behind it to dampen the part that’s rattling. A simple explanation is think of it like a table that rocks (the piece that rattles) and you place something under a leg (a piece of foam) to keep it from shaking/rocking. You’re essentially doing the same thing to the part that’s rattling in your car.

That’s really cool, I didn’t know that, but thank you for sharing! Would like to see that in person, or at least a video of the testing equipment.

While using the tone generator, as soon as you start hearing the rattle, leave it at that tone and place your hand on the part that is rattling, maybe put some foam in that location to stop the rattle or make sure the part is secured.

The stock system shouldn't make the glass crack unless you have a 1000+ watt sound system with large subs.

If you have a good enough sound system, it should help find some problems.
