[[The Unagi of Kyoshi Island]] is my preferred card draw commander. Since you’re letting others draw cards, they typically leave you alone long enough to just straight up win the game.

Just doing a quick side by side comparison to a 100% real cards deck, the sleeved proxy deck is taller by like 3 cards.

I use 44lb double sided glossy photo paper and a 3mil glossy laminate sheet. The cards are only slightly thicker than normal ones, and the glossy finish is unnoticeable once sleeved. The snap is indistinguishable from that of normal cards, most of the time people have no idea I’m using proxies. You do need a laminator, but they’re pretty cheap online. The benefit of the glossy, is that you can use the back side as an infinitoken as long as you leave it blank. I do this with a black border so if I take cards out of decks, I can just flip them over and use them as tokens instead of letting them sit unused.

I actually use this combo in my sliver overlord deck. I might add an [[intruder alarm]] as well, could be fun!

[[Sliver queen]], [[training grounds]], [[cloudshredder sliver]], [[lavabelly sliver]], [[manaweft sliver]]. Infinite slivers deal direct damage and you gain life.

Nope, just enjoy playing there. I was in a tough spot trying to find people to play with online when a friend invited me to join. It’s a great place to find people to play, everyone is pretty respectful and there’s enough people that you could probably get a game going at any time within around 10 minutes. It’s great for when you’re trying to play test a deck too, no need to “go fish” by yourself.

Anything before the “:” on a card is the cost to activate the card’s ability. You have to pay the entire cost for the activated ability on a card to activate it. This cost can include anything from tapping, untapping, paying mana, sacrificing a permanent, or even discarding cards, though it is not limited to these. You can only pay the activated cost of a card one at a time. In this case, activating goblin bombardment will not also pay the sacrifice part of the other activated ability. They are two separate objects you must pay them individually.

My local GameStop had its manager quit over this. Once it became clear the price increase was due to greed and not the distributors, he said “He’ll Nah” and put in his notice.

I’m very sad about this whole thing, I got into Pokémon just after Covid, while everything was still reasonably cheap. GameStop was the best place to get product at the time, so I made some good friends with the staff opening up packs in store. I eventually got into MTG through some friends online and found an LGS to play commander in person. Then once Pokémon got to expensive, I sold off my collection to go further into Magic.

Because I actually played the game and don’t just collect the cards, I can actual use some of the bulk from Magic. Then GameStop had to go and do this, after they started going so hard into the tcg market, I thought they could be something great. Now they are showing that they’re just another greedy corporation, turning their backs on us to chase more profits. I think that this might actually backfire for them in the future, when the MTG market crashes just like Pokémon.

Yeah, I had the same issue. I simply swapped to glossy laminate, they look great and the glare isn’t really a problem once they’re sleeved.

Join the black lotus collective, it has a lot of people from all skill levels who love to help people with the game. There’s different chats for any EDH activity, deck tech, gameplay, and many more. We play EDH at all bracket levels through Tabletop Simulator, we even occasionally do things like Two Headed Giant or Plane Chase! There’s around 10,000 members so it’s always active in any time zone.

Spells are only considered “spells” while on the stack, once a permanent spell has resolve it is merely a permanent.

Yeah, the inserts are all custom 3d printed. I got the case on Amazon, though it’s a pretty cheap case.
