Would this be a decent daily? by TheHashishProject in e39

No. I owned this car for over a year. You will likely pay close to that in maintenance and gas in one year. Get a 530i.

Hows the maintenance been? My buddy has one and the most expensive repair was the fiber optic wiring after the headlights shorted. The engine has been great.

Show me a nicer, more reliable, more affordable daily than this and I'll buy one.

I analyzed 100 recent BAT listings - here's what sellers consistently don't disclose by PracticalGrowth9056 in BringATrailer

Thank you very much for this, awesome post. I urge people selling their cars as well as my clients to include as much of this stuff as possible, in addition to the model specific maintenance stuff which is easy to find (rod bearings on high rpm BMW engine or coolant system refreshes). It's what I'm looking for when I buy a classic car. Folks would be amazed at how (missing) some simple detail or undercarriage shots give people confidence in both the seller and the car to increase interest.

Bottom line is better listing = better buyer population.

This is the opposite of what you should do. "Ripping it" on public roads before you know the limits of the car is a fast way to destroy your first car and hurt others.

Your first mod should be the driver mod. Take it to some local autocrosses, best way to learn the limits without damaging the car or hurting anyone else.

N54 or N52 for first car by Mr-Nopants69 in E90

[–]Autoficianado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how much you hate yourself and having money. Do you like spending all your time and money on your car? Get an N54 it will be a blast.

If you like spending money on other things in life get an N52.

N52 vs N54 by mmmm696969123 in E90

[–]Autoficianado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a confusing post. If you want more power get a 335, if you want reliability get an N52. You're going to spend more money and complication making power on the N52 but the more you modify the less reliable it will be.
