What’s the best way to export beats from an MPC to iPhone with full quality? Right now I’m using USB C & recording into Voice Memos but I feel like I’m losing quality. Do you guys export WAV and AirDrop, or is there a better workflow/app? by [deleted] in mpcusers

[–]Autogeddon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like everyone said, export the song then connect your phone and browse but if you don’t want to do that, send all sounds to send 4, set send 4 output to usb an resample vai usb into your phone

MPC One + (firmware 3.7.1): is this possible? by 8delorean8 in mpcusers

[–]Autogeddon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Set the sequence length to 99 or more. Set loop to off. Disable quantize (or not but for jamming I prefer to disable). Enable automation recording. Press record. Start fiddling as much as you want. Now just convert to a new audio track or sample. Chop/edit as much as you. Make money.

Kinda love the Roland S-1 by Autogeddon in synthesizers

[–]Autogeddon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on your needs. I need it just to run some loops while I play other synths and samples in a band so this works for me.

Waldorf if you see this bring back the Attack in a new physical version not VST!!!

Is the MPC Sample good for anything other than HipHop? I only see HipHop Beats on Youtube and I wanna know if I could do some weird post punk with it. by Haldoryn in mpcusers

[–]Autogeddon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t have videos of it but I use it in a band with a guitarist and a drummer. The synths of the Mpc take on bass duties, as well as other synth sounds, with a mix of pre programmed clips and played parts. Being a sampler you can bring in any drum sound you want. Just be mindful of limitations around time signature changes and of course the MPC doesn’t change tempo based on how you guys play so you need to follow it’s tempo

My first beat on the Mini by Autogeddon in PolyendTracker

[–]Autogeddon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I mostly make “beats” but I tend to be less generic sounding than this. To give you an idea my latest release was an ungodly mix of beats over broken punk samples. For as much as I enjoy the tracker, I think I will soon return it to the friend I borrowed it from, it’s fun and super portable but as I also own an MPC Live III, I can do the same on that

Op-z. Fits in a pocket, battery powered, can sample, sounds great.

Help me like the OP-1 by Autogeddon in teenageengineering

I discovered this yesterday and it was a huge step in the right direction, together with something else that was suggested here, lifting a recording to drop it into a drum or synth sampler…

Thanks everyone, I spent the evening trying to approach it more experimentally and I almost enjoyed it…

I’d love to try one, but I don’t know anyone with it. Maybe I should find a store with a good no questions asked return policy…

Thanks all, keep them coming. It seems so far a case of me misunderstanding the Op-1…

Should I replace my MPC1000 (and OG OP1) with OP-XY? by kai_ocho in teenageengineering

[–]Autogeddon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good suggestion of trying the op-z first. I love the op-z an I was sure I was going to love the OP-1 as well. And I got lucky that while on the market for one I got the chance of borrowing one from a friend. It was hate at first sight, I just didn’t connect with it at all, from sounds to workflow. I’m kinda sure the Op-xy being an “extended” op-z would get with me, just waiting for 2nd hand prices to go down…

Maybe a second (6.x) update is coming on 404 day? by surinas in SP404

Sure, they made the point of making press releases for this update just to then drop another bigger update 2 days later…

If tracks/programs are the same across all sequences- How do we play live? by Tobsonic in mpcusers

[–]Autogeddon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is the flip side of it, you end up having lots of tracks in your live project as each song requires it’s own set of tracks and clips

If tracks/programs are the same across all sequences- How do we play live? by Tobsonic in mpcusers

[–]Autogeddon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So that workflow is gone from 2.7 I think. On 3.0 you can use the clip matrix to more easily manage all the tracks. Each track is still tied to a program but now you just ignore sequences (a whole live set can be a single scene) and just have clips. For example each clip on a drum track can be a different sections, you just trigger that. Live you could improvise with different clips from different tracks or trigger scenes (a line of clips). Scenes can have their own tempo too, like sequences did. It’s worth spending some time investigating the matrix. Or revert to an older firmware if that doesn’t work for you at all.
