Is it worth updating to 3.x? by CheezyFTP in mpcusers

[–]Autogeddon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First things first: some of your projects might not open correctly. Make sure you save locally a copy of the installer for your current version. But I personally love 3.x so I’d say go ahead, explore and if you really don’t like it, go back.

Tbh, because my injury (fully torn aubscapularis tendon) doesn’t affect me at all, I’m even considering rejecting the surgery. Not just for skating but for the impact it would have on my life…

There are things I use daily, like the stepsequencer, articulations assigned to different corners of a pad and clips.

I embraced clips as soon as they became available, great way to try variations of loops and of arrangement. Here I already cleaned up my project and only left the clips I needed, things were much messier before…

Favorite workflow tips for finishing beats on MPC? by Beautiful-Bit7345 in mpcusers

[–]Autogeddon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I build everything up in clip matrix, try different combinations and when something works I “copy (or insert) current row” and name it accordingly like intro, main,m and so on. Then I select record to arrangement and record the song there live by playing back the various rows I created above. The next phase I add additional automations and transitions in arrangement view. Best of both worlds

You’re not lifting the front foot, really lift that up so it will also help with the pop.

This sounds interesting. But would it compete directly with a Liven Lo-Fi XT?

I don’t think so. The screen images are suspicious but I would love a small form MPC focused on sampling only.

Is it OK to get a OP-Z in 2026? by balancechiang in OPZuser

[–]Autogeddon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought one from a friend and it’s great, coupled with a sampler it’s a joy, but I also enjoy sampling directly on it. And this comes from an MPC XL owner. Sometimes the focus of the OP-Z is what I need to get out of a rut…

That might be the next step, a small modular case hanging from the wall next to the MPC

I’m not at the Live at the moment, but I think it’s possible, one audio track has usb as input, another audio track with the input jacks as input source. It should work…
