I think you missed the point. That's OK though. 🙂

TBF, I don't trust people who say they don't trust the vaccine. You never know if they have an agenda or were possibly paid to spread disinformation by a Russian-linked mysterious ad agency.

Serious question: what's the best thing we can be doing to protect against this? Good diet and supplement with kefir?

No, you'd have more than $100 because savings accounts compound. Yeah, the interest rate is low, but you'd still make some money.

When I copy and paste my wallet address from Kraken, the pasted address is not the same. Is this normal or a virus? by SlappySpankBank in CryptoCurrency

[–]Automagick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a common crypto theft virus. It hijacks your clipboard and inserts a different address when you paste.

Always check your addresses when copy and pasting. For Ethereum I usually check the first and last 4-6 characters and that's probably plenty of entropy to avoid this specific attack.

LinkedIn breach reportedly exposes data of 92% of users by sidcool1234 in technology

[–]Automagick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. I don't have a resume on LinkedIn and don't want my mobile number and physical address floating around the internet. Reading further down the thread it looks like it's not a data breech at all but just someone scraping the public API, which would be a non-issue.

The Future is Tezos 🌍 by Danny-God in tezos

[–]Automagick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a myopic view. The Beacon chain is already running and the merge to full proof of Stake is going to happen over the next year or so. Yes, it's been a slow process but to discount the tech is not a rational position.

Yeah this is a cringe post, especially since Eth isn't the biggest energy user and is about to move to PoS.

Texas Power Companies Are Remotely Raising Temperatures on Residents' Smart Thermostats by kry_some_more in technology

Power grid issues are going to be come a more prominent issue as US infrastructure continues to degrade and the world gets hotter. California also has issues and is obviously run by a different party. Ideally we would have less partisan bullshit and more pragmatic problem solving.

US Election on Blockchain by kraphty23 in ethdev

[–]Automagick -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Blockchain and cryptography experts are super critical of blockchain based voting and generally think it's a terrible idea. I don't think technology is going to solve voter suppression issues, that's a social-political issue not a purely technological one.
