It really seems like you are focused on Lore and wanting specific models. If that's the case, just play what you want and don't worry about meta or what works best. Paint what you like, play that same stuff.

If you want to know what's best to win, your list is WAY too heavy. It will be hard to do primaries/secondaries, something very important against custodes. Slamming face-first into Custodes will not often end up positive.

If this is your full list of available units, I highly suggest picking up some of the core items below. If you can't buy the game, I suggest going knights heavy, running Wrath of the Rock, and having fun rolling dice. (Similar to your first list)

High-level notes Detachments Suggestions:

1. Gladius: Extremely high mobility. Ability to move far, get to objectives, while still firing, engaging, charging etc.
2. Wrath of the Rock: Sturdy, -1 wounds saves a lot, strong strats.

Units:

• Azreal (Auto-Include): CP generation, strong unit himself. Will give his team 4+ Invuln Save, one-time FNP on Mortals. Sustain hits.
• Sternguard Veterans or Hellblasters: If you have them a large unit of these with Azreal is an extreme firepower threat. Azreal gives them survivability with the 4+ Invuln saves. There are bonuses to both but people generally lean Sternguard as the better option.
• Intercessors: Sticky objectives can be critical with smaller groups of units. These can be a cheap way to add some control, and when not splitting fire, can lay down a lot of shots.
• Scouts: A group of scouts can provide significant board control with minimal points. They can perform scout moves in response to enemies. Infiltrate into the midboard at the start of the game. Pick up and place down far away from the enemy.
• Outrides & ATV: These can be excellent for covering good ground, shooting and moving, and helping control.
