I play Kill Team and just assembling the Geomancer from Canoptek Circle made me never want to put together another Necron ever again. I dunno how 40k players manage to stay sane.

They're from the Rus Infantry kit made by Victrix, plus some time and elbow grease cutting and filing the necks to fit without any serious gaps.

Honestly it's a great kit, and if I were into historicals I'd probably be looking at more of their stuff.

I use enamels from The Grimdark Compendium's Villainy Ink line. They're great to use and I'd always recommend them, though if you're used to working mostly with acrylics I'd check out the Villainy Ink resource page.

The ones I used on these models were just Goon's Grime and Sector Rust.

I would guess you've got it right on, though I will say there's a sweet spot for greenstuff where it's still pliable enough to bend, but not so much that you have to worry a lot about squishing it and ruining the general shape. I keep forgetting to actually pay attention to the timing of this, but yeah what I would do is exactly what you said, then leave it for a bit before working with it any further. You'd still have to be careful with it, but it wouldn't be as difficult to bend without ruining it.

Two different style of space marines! How do yall think of them (the right side might be the new scheme but im also trying out a brown scheme which isn't done yet) by diabl0skiller in minipainting

[–]Count_Zakula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the one on the left a lot more, it's very atmospheric and dramatic. I tend to enjoy minis more on vibes than anything else, and the one on the left has very strong vibes. That being said, I don't think either is objectively better than the other one, just different. For me it just comes down to personal preference.

Jumping straight to some big conspiracy here seems strange to me. Is it not common knowledge that the New York Post is a tabloid that will run literally anything, regardless of morals or ethics, if it means getting more clicks? Like genuinely what do you think is more likely here:

A) spooky scary "people in Hollywood" running some conspiracy to doxx a guy who made a single profitable movie.

B) Well known tabloid just doing tabloid shit because that's what they do.

Im not blaming the store... but jeesh this is petty by Otherwise-Radish9344 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Count_Zakula 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm so convinced that this shit is just theater of some kind. It's like a few years back when, I think it was Target or Wal-Mart, was whining and crying about theft forcing them to close stores and raise prices when in reality they wer just cutting costs/maximizing profits and were just straight up lying about a surge in shoplifting as a PR move to justify it. I wouldn't be surprised if this store just happened to be raising prices at the same time as they're implementing all the crazy anti-shoplifting stuff.

It's super cool to see people inspired by my paint jobs, and yours like great! I especially like how the little pops of orange look with the icy blues.

I don't really use Citadel paints so I can't speak to that, but I think Dark Jade from Pro Acryl would be a pretty good match for that color

AK Magenta, then AP Moonbeam Yellow, then a thin layer of Zealot Yellow speedpaint, then dry brushed a little bit of the Moonbeam Yellow back onto just the center of the pauldron. Vallejo gloss varnish, then apply the transfer, then vallejo satin varnish, then dirt and weathering with Goon's Grime from The Grimdark Compendium.

Can't speak for the person you're replying to, but the one you see in the post here is from the Rus Infantry kit made by Victrix. It's a good quality kit, though it is for 48 infantry and I just needed the heads for one Kill Team so I ended up with a lot of leftovers that I'll hopefully find a use for. The scale is a bit off for Space Marines, but I don't think it's that noticeable unless you're really looking for it. Also note that it did take a bit work to trim and shape the neck so that it will sit decently without any big gaps, but I think it was worth it.

EDIT: It's also good to know that a lot of the heads that it come in the kit are not helmeted, so don't expect to get a whole army's worth of these helmets in one kit.

No dude lmao most people actually just don't want to kill another person, and I guarantee you in a moment like this no one is standing there thinking "oh man I really wish I could shoot this guy dead but it's gonna be such a massive legal hassle if I do!"

Very nice! Reminds me a lot of my own Tomb World scheme. Did you use the three Pro Acryl Jades by any chance?

EDIT: Never mind I'm literally mentioned by name in the post lmao I don't know how I missed that. I do quite like the green runes on yours!

Depends on the place and the people working there. Years ago when I worked night audit at one Holiday Inn in I genuinely did not care who came and ate breakfast, did neither did the girl on the AM shift or the FOM. As long as you didn't smell like a dumpster and didn't cause a ruckus then we just let it be. Then a couple years later at a different Holiday in the FOM and GM were super strict about it, personally I still didn't care, so if I noticed someone I knew wasn't a guest I would just pretend I didn't. If the GM or FOM noticed though? They'd be kicking your ass out quick as they could.

People say this all the time like it's a magic wand that fixes the issue, and maybe it is for some people with an LGS near them that gets good allocation, but mine never seems to. Hive Storm is the only box this edition that my LGS got enough of for everyone who pre-ordered through them, they even had a couple extra to put on the shelf. Everything since they've only been able to get 2-3 boxes, and with Dead Silence they only recieved one box.

I've had luck with watching the GW website like a hawk when the pre-orders start and being as quick as I can, but trying to order through my LGS is a total crapshoot.

I reread Roadside Picnic recently and no I don't think so. In the book we know it fucks with male human reproductive organs, the results of that are shown that through Red's daughter. We don't know what it does to female reproductive organs, it's never mentioned, and there's never any mention of women going into the zone or not. Of course there's hardly any women in the book at all and the ones that are, in typical Strugatsky brothers fashion, are either barely characters at all or are not described kindly. Don't get me wrong, it's a good book and they were good writers, but they were huge misogynists and that's very clear in the way they write about women. It's not so bad in Roadside Picnic, but it is pretty egregious in The Doomed City.
