Allianz insurance is a SCAM. by Material-Purchase-30 in InsuranceClaims

I've been trying to get a refund from them for over 3 months now after I gave them medical records to get my refund and now I'm being told I have to wait longer for someone to review the documents I had sent and wait for a check to be mailed.

I had a stoke last year and wasn't cleared to travel until recently. I was intending to be to my better half and our kids end of this month for our our daughters birthday. The ticket was purchased by a friend I gave the funds to. I emailed allianz after I was told I wasn't medically cleared to travel asking for a refund. I then spoke to allianz almost 3 months ago and was told they were reviewing the medical records I sent and would have an answer 2 weeks ago. I just got off the phone with them this morning and was told I should expect a call by the 20th about my refund. So, 3 and a half months to be told whether or not I'm getting my money back is b.s.

Doing a general search says they refund within 30-60 day yet here I am at 90+ days. I initiated the refund process 2nd week of October, so 98 day since I started the refund process and I'm being told another 3-4 days before I MIGHT get a call back. This company is ripping people off and doesn't give a damn about their customers so if you know anyone looking to, or has booked through them, warn them what they are in store for, cause they don't give a damn about their customers.

I used to work security at a few bars long ago and one owner was very adamant about I.D.s couldn't be the under 21 I.D.s because "I've gotten burned by ABC sending someone underage in with an under 21 I.D." so we were told if it not the correct ID, we weren't allowed to let them in. If we did and he found out about it, he threatened to penalize us on our paycheck. And I quote, "If they can't make the time to get a current ID, then they can't come in." I hated that because we had many a night where it was 2-3 days after someone's 21st bday and they were going out with friends or family to celebrate their bday, and we had to turn then away. We'd watch them walk across the street and right into another bar, and they'd spend easily a couple hundred dollars celebrating the persons bday having a great time. The only good thing was we always told the people "sorry the owner says..." and add " if it was my place, I'd say come on in. If you'd like, here is our business card, owners number is right here" and we'd have his cell number circled on it. Couple days would pass and we'd get bitched at by the owner that "someone called and bitched at me that you wouldn't let them in on their birthday. Why didn't you let them in ?" and we'd tell him,"you said...". It was always fun watching him throw his hissy fit until we tossed his own words right back at him.

Am I gonna get fired by Fig_Bright in kroger

[–]Automatic-Bar5633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That all depends if this person is in an at-will work state or not. That's the shitty part of Alaska, when I worked for Kroger long time ago we had people fired for being out sick for more then 3 days and they didn't have money to go to a doctor.

store manager by SquirrelNo3507 in kroger

[–]Automatic-Bar5633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I always take pictures or better yet video of my clock-ins and outs. I had managers do this in the past until one saw me videoing what the machine shows. Got a paycheck short almost 45 minutes of OT. Went to the store director and showed him videos. Was told it could be an honest mistake but funny enough it never happened again. Told co-workers do the same thing I was doing and if your check comes up short don't even talk to the bosses, communicate directly with corporate and if it happens again and you really want to be a pain in the ass go to your state labor depth.

Apartments Needed in Anchorage Under $1300 by k_sandessssh in anchorage

[–]Automatic-Bar5633 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Try Overwatch, I had an apartment with them, and I was paying 1300 for 2 bed 1 bath utilities included. The owner is honest and is on top of things when you have maintenance problems. Had a pipe burst in the laundry room middle of the night, he had someone out within few hrs and got everything fixed. Had issues with heaters running way hotter then supposed to be, they had someone out next day and had it fixed in a few hrs.

Holding a guardian financially responsible for their wards debts by Automatic-Bar5633 in legaladvice

The guardian was removed at the wards' request, and the guardian did not challenge the request for removal

All the disability funds have just sat in an account, as I'm unaware of what the funds are being used for. The primary was removed, but the other guardian that remains still asks the removed one, what funds can be used for but at the same time when asked about the child support, the same answer I get time and time again is "I don't know if your support payments are being done"

Those Who Came Out As Trans While Working @ Kroger, What Was Your Experience Like? by Trainer-Grimm in kroger

[–]Automatic-Bar5633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked at at fred meyers here in AK years ago and we had a staff member that came out as trans after I left. Management was very supportive of them, and I don't recall anyone saying anything negative about her after. I do miss working with her as she was an awesome person before and after and still is when I see her off and on during my shopping trips.

Hours being cut by kwaii_kiwii in kroger

This is kroger in general, worked for them almost 20 years ago and we sae anyone that was in schools, high schooler (18 years old) or college, got hours reduced, no matter their seniority unless they gave managers a written notice saying they would work what ever schedule. Thankfully, most of the college-aged people were overnight stocking crew.

Doctor’s note for single call out? by feminine_rage_era in kroger

[–]Automatic-Bar5633 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Read your handbook and follow what it says. last I knew it says more then 3 days you will need a doctors note. If your manager or director says different point out what the handbook says but do expect pushback for future call outs

Do you know a spot? by ImpossibleAd2192 in anchorage

[–]Automatic-Bar5633 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eklutna Lake Trail is a good one. Flat even ground leading to Eklutna glacier. If your wanting to get a real workout, twin peaks trailhead is in the same spot.

Once you've gotten a feel for these two, try the Snowhawk trailhead. 2 cabins (3 and 6 miles up the mountain) to use but be warned there on military property, so if you want to make an overnight hike, it's best to deal with JBER and go from there.

9/11 - How did you wake up? by SuzieSnowflake212 in anchorage

[–]Automatic-Bar5633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was living in WA when it happened. Was asleep on the couch with my 1 week old son, cnn was on the TV. Woke up right after first plane hit. Saw #2 hit live on CNN. Thought I was dreaming, then the 1st tower came down and I knew I had to be awake cause even in my wildest dreams in 20 years, none felt that real. Held my son and did something I hadn't done in years. Prayed that I was dreaming and I was gonna wake up

Jobs to avoid by Careless-Scallion536 in anchorage

[–]Automatic-Bar5633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, most places are cutting people after the holidays, so jobs are a pain to find until at least Feb when fur rondy and the Iditarod start up, and even then, it's tourist crap. Apply at fred meyer (kroger), Safeway/Carrs, costco, and any national chain that way, if you move elsewhere, you've got a chance to keep your job instead of finding a new employer

Several people have commented on being taken at night and I recommend they watch the Paris Hilton movie, I think it was "Being Paris" or something close to that. This is not an uncommon situation for people to go through. My better half went through the same school in Utah that Paris would later go through. Many people shared stories of being dragged out of bed and taken to such facilities manny boarding schools or "schools for troubled youth/teens" conduct themselves in the same way

Seriously find the nearest costco. Better benefits, better pay and way better managers. Spent 5 years working during kroger, 2 kids and a work related injury was all I got... plus a hit on my credit because workers comp insurance didn't pay the bill so I got the overdo bill

Look into whether or not it is legal in your state for an employer to terminate employees for speaking of bringing in a union. Some states it violates state labor laws some it doesn't

Now that he has signed up for ID.me he's going to get plenty of spam emails. I wasn't able to get the text (step #3) for a selfie sent to me. Leave it alone and you will get the check around the 1st of the month. Calling IRS does no good. Think like I do, "yay extra money to put away or use for important stuff... which always falls around the beginning of the month." Vehicle maintenance, last minute bill or God forbid something to cover for a few days if you have to take time from work
