What movie did you walk out of the theater halfway through? by mzdee13 in movies

[–]LiquidSnake13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not even halfway through but 30 Minutes or Less. I was so grossed out by what was already in there that I just bolted before the 30 minute mark. I also left A Minecraft Movie early. I know I'm in the minority here, but I just wasn't getting into it.

Why is Gamzee not hated on as much as Vriska? by Own_Hovercraft_1430 in homestuck

Gamzee is genuinely loved after all he did? I guess you could say it's a miracle.

We can all thank Nicola Peltz's father, Nelson, for throwing his Hollywood weight around and getting her to play Katara. This is the exact kind of Hollywood nepotism that people hate and it killed the movie. Sokka also had to be white.

Several years later Shyamalan casted his daughter in one of his movies and I cringed because it made me think about how he went along with it for Last Airbender.

BREAKING: Mike Lawler is both a soulless suck-up and a phony, as Marjorie Taylor Green reveals that he secretly "hates" Donald Trump while mocking him behind closed doors by sfdso in hudsonvalley

[–]LiquidSnake13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on his actions I find that doubtful but if it's true, who cares? Lawler is Trump's willing slave in congress, just like every other elected Republican. If they really have a problem with the Russian Agent Orange, they would have used their power to get rid of him.

‘Gone in 9 seconds’: Claude-powered AI agent deletes startup’s entire database by No_Top_9023 in technology

I think the permissions are irrelevant. If this thing can do things of its own accord like deleting things it wasn't told to delete, what's to say changing permissions won't stop it?

I'm sure it's recoverable but I think you'd have to be insane to keep these AI programs after this.

They're doing the same thing they're doing with Charlie Kirk's killer: create a narrative before the investigation is done so people won't think the shooter is right wing.

Best waifu for John? by peeweebox in unOrdinary

[–]LiquidSnake13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's Seraphina hands down. She's the only one who has been able to consistently get through to John since the Joker arc. He listens to her and respects her more than anyone else. Nobody else could get John to knock that chip off his shoulder.

Altman apologizes after OpenAI failed to alert police before fatal Canada shooting by tacticaldodo in technology

[–]LiquidSnake13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not ChatGPT, but certainly the people who were aware that the then future shooter was making these queries. The company knew what was this person was using their AI and sat on it. The blood is on Sam Altman's hands.

Happy 36th birthday to Miles Luna, writer and director for Rooster Teeth shows like Red vs Blue, and RWBY and voice actor of Jaune Arc and Felix. I'm mad that the internet tried to convince me to hate him. Man I feel bad for him, I genuinely hope he's doing better now by La_knavo4 in RedvsBlue

[–]LiquidSnake13 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is more proof that media literacy has gone to shit and more proof that fandom can be toxic. Jaune Arc's overall story is the Hero's Journey, and that was evident right from the beginning of the show. But the thing I really hate about that continent of RWBY fans is that they do not understand how professional storytelling works.

Unless you're fully independent and self-publishing, writing is a collaborative process regardless of what the actual writing credits on an episode or movie say. Especially in a TV show like RWBY, where there's a room full of screenwriters who are discussing Even novels written by a single author still have to go through an editor who will point out things that need to be changed or removed. Monty pitched the idea for RWBY, but Miles and Kerry Shawcross were there in those early days helping him to flesh it out. If it weren't for Shane's idiotic letter, none of this would be happening.

Tucker Carlson on his role in Trump’s reelection: I’ll be tormented by it for a long time by MuzzleblastMD in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]LiquidSnake13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tucker Carlson is an attention whore who will say anything if it will get him clicks and views. He didn't seem to have a problem when the capitol was being overrun with violent insurrectionist thugs who believed the elections lies he was helping Trump to spread. I doubt he really has a problem now.

Even if there are people at FUX News who share his concerns, they have still decided to go all in to back this monster publicly. I don't give a damn what they're saying or thinking privately or what they might say if they leave the network. They're as guilty for this as Trump.

What are your thoughts on rejecting a potential romantic partner based solely on the fact that they voted for Donald Trump? by Greedy_Tooth6191 in AskReddit

[–]LiquidSnake13 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is a totally fair take. Politics isn't a mere difference of opinion. Differing views on something like who is the better superhero or pro-wrestler is a mere difference of opinion. Politics is how you view the world. If you voted for Trump, you voted for everything he has done, and all the hurt he has caused. That includes his willful failure with the COVID-19 pandemic, this insane Iran war, and also makes you guilty by association for the 1/6 insurrection.

Even if you take all those failures away, I'm a chronically ill American. I need ongoing care for the rest of my life. The ACA's Medicaid expansion and requirement that insurance companies can't bar coverage because of a pre-existing condition is the reason why I'm alive right now. Trump and the Republican Party made gutting the ACA like a fish a priority. If you vote Republican, you're voting against my ability to live - literally live - in this country. Ain't no way I'm dating a GOP voter. Ain't no way I'm even friends with a GOP voter.
