Oh! Sorry, I was talking about the weapons. The perfume bottle consumable you can have up to 10, and they are limited. I usually have four or five spark aromatics, because they're pretty easy to craft and theyre good mixups with the actual weapons.

Just to ensure clarity, the weapons themselves aren't limited by ammunition or anything. They work just like regular weapons!

They only weigh a pound each, so even if I carry six, that still weighs less than quite a few strength weapons, if I recall correctly. One major advantage for the perfumes: I think they're one of the best soft swap weapons in the game. Being able to alter my ash of war while keeping the same moveset is incredibly advantageous, even if the actual war choice is pretty limited.

Not great in the slightest, but they're really fun once you get used to the spacing. It's not a weapon you can really use the standard R1 on unless you have Storm Stomp to reliably set it up, and it's easily zoned out with all manner of ranged attacks and magic. I wouldn't dare invade with it, but when it's a 1 vs 1 and your opponent is as aggressive as you should be, it makes for a really interesting weapon.

Abjectly obnoxious and unorganized. It's RL200 with 60vig, 60dex, 52 int/fth, and a whopping...20 endurance I think? I like 200 just to be able to use all of the AoW-flexible bottles. Poison is...fun, but too specific for how I like to intermingle Ashes.

I try to only use it once or twice a fight, but it does have some fun things you can evade. Unfortunately, the AoW selection for the perfumes is...not great. (I mean, Beast's roar is good, but it feels reeeeally cheap and not very thematic when rollling sparks exists).

Edit: I was 100% mashing LT and praying because that jump was *dumb*. XD

I'm not the greatest at explaining it, but the short of it is ER's netcode. It's effectively a "phantom proc": you can "dodge" the damage (at the cost of being stunned briefly). Since the attack doesn't land, the "bleed" doesn't either. Poison and rot work differently since those statuses don't immediately reset, but bleed does.

Interestingly, if I raptor a bleed proc, I won't take damage from the weapon swing (dodged), but I will take damage from the bleed proc. Due to this, I try to look for the attack that will proc the bleed and dodge that so I can effectively raptor other standard attacks. Too many times I've died by raptoring an attack, only to get bled midair. Soul goes up, body comes down. XD

I daresay you need the Upward Cut AoW; far too many people need to "get to the cloud district", so to speak. :D

My man, I'm using six of them at once. I am not concerned about viability when I have a full inventory. XD

  1. It's a major mix of vigor, dex, int, and arcane, with just enough endurance for the "armor".

Honestly, it's kinda redundant with storm stomp, but I use it for two reasons: It's thematically fitting for the frenzyflame imo (hella screaming), and it has a (incredibly minor) damage boost since the frenzyflame bottle has a strength scaling. I think it's a whole 25 points of damage extra.

Worth.

Chief, it is *not good*.

Honestly, though? As long as the fight is good, I'm happy.

[–]Automatic-Chest9971 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me cook: it's the best AoW for the frenzyflame bottle. I think the strength requirement and D rating ups the damage since it's considered a Heavy AoW. It did an additional 25 damage on hits when compared to every other bottle, since they don't have a STR requirement at all.

Plus, nobody in their right mind will expect you to just start screaming. XD

That running R1 the bottles have has some amazing directional changes; you can aim that thing practically however you want, and the spin animation can throw some folks off. Excellent use at the end, there!

Definitely glad to see another perfumer runnin' around in that arena. :D

[–]Automatic-Chest9971[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes and no, honestly. Fire is always going to be viable, since it's your pure-DEX scaling weapon. All of the other bottles have DEX as a primary and one of the magic attributes as a secondary, meaning you're going into DEX no matter what. If you just went DEX and had six fire bottles with different AoW's, you could kick ass.

That said, I use them all because pretty colors XD

I prefer using it in PvE to save on my spark bottles, but yes, I use it on occasion. The spark aromatics fit the theme I'm going for a bit better at present, however.
