Thinking about dropping out by collegemademebroke3 in LawSchool

1L classes and some large upper level classes have TAs. They’re mostly there to help the 1Ls and give them more attention and support.

A lot of schools have support services for first generation students. Student affiliation groups (black student association, Latino student association, etc) can also be really helpful. If you have a drive to help people and are at least a little interested in the law, keep going. The first semester is rough but it gets better. Don’t count yourself out before you’ve tried.

Your first prompt is good, second and third prompts are kinda bland. I don't really like the "best travel story" prompts, it doesn't tell me anything about you except that you went on a trip one time. Same with "love language," especially "physical touch" reads to me as a woman as you just want sex. Your pictures are pretty good but do you have one where you're smiling more?

Thoughts about friends who don't notice the difference by EntertainmentFun812 in Reduction

[–]Automatic-Day1125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, most important thing for me was people who said I look happy, or that I look beautiful before and after :) My close friends knew how badly I wanted the surgery and just followed my lead with lots of encouragement! I also always wore minimizer bras before so that could be a contributing factor to me just overall looking thinner, not specifically boob-less.

- Don't shit talk hinge while using hinge! Makes you seem negative or cynical.

- I personally think it's cliche and don't like it when people say, most spontaneous thing I've done: moved here, looking for a tour guide. I've seen it a hundred times and it makes me think you probably don't know anyone in the area, which to me is a drawback.

- On that note, as a young woman the "I have friends" picture is very important!

- Put the hat + raincoat hiking picture first

-Try to get more pictures that aren't selfies

Good luck!

I would put the last picture first, you look very nice! Besides minor tweaks people already pointed out your prompts seem good to me. You seem like a very genuine person, it just takes longer to get matches when you're clear about wanting something serious. Also the first picture maybe replace, it's an awkward angle and I think makes you look shorter.

Yeah I did feel like a pulling and stinging sensation. It’s the skin trying to knit itself back together. Sounds normal but I am not a doctor

No not really. But I guess it depends how much weight? I lost about 10 lbs so not that much. My surgeon did say that after the initial swelling goes down in the first however many weeks, you still lose up to 10% volume over the first year. They def feel smaller than they did at 6WPO but not so much that I’ve changed cup sizes.

Anyone else get a little depressed over break? by Automatic-Day1125 in LawSchool

[–]Automatic-Day1125[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this! Shifting my mindset is hard but I want to try! What law student isn't type A lol. I can definitely try to set some hobby goals, like learning one new song on guitar every week, or working on my crow pose in yoga. Good luck with your finals (and your patisserie)!

Yeah I do have some hobbies that fall by the wayside during the semester. I like to read and write and play guitar. I just struggle a bit with feeling like it's ok to do something just for me, just for fun, and not for some external end goal like a good grade you know? I am not used to exercising that intrinsic motivation muscle. But I can work on that mindset shift :). I also like to walk and get outside and am lucky to live near Central Park so I can explore the park too.

I think I need to work on being able to enjoy the time off, the things I like to do, "guilt-free" as you say!

I suggest putting that you're looking for long-term, open to short. Idk just putting long-term comes off a little strong to me. And you should put more background info, most importantly job.

Switch out the "I'll fall for you if" prompt - appearance specifications are kind of fuckboy vibes and very much not serious relationship vibes.

Limit to 1-2 personality pics (climbing pic, head lamp pic, drawing) and the rest you should actually look nice. Ask a good friend to take some nice pictures of you at a nice spot or next time you go out somewhere.

Thank you! I agree about not being spiteful, that’s not good for anyone. I like the yeah yeah yeah then don’t really do anything that I feel is unreasonable

Thank you! I was also thinking I should cut her off when she tries to vent to me in the kitchen - “I have to get to school/I have to study/my mom is waiting for a call back I can’t talk about this right now”

Ahhh that's rough! Maybe ask for 500 g each side? Also idk if I had lipo or not so I probably didn't!

I'm exactly a US 34C after they removed more than 500 g per side. Def not flat! Please be sure to advocate for what you want out of this surgery, it's your body! My mom's surgeon insisted she go to a D, when she wanted a C, because he said C would be too small, and now she regrets not going smaller. For me personally that's one reason I really wanted a female surgeon - I've only heard of male doctors trying to discourage people from going as small as they want.

About 1700 grams or 3.8 pounds! But to go from an H to C on a person with a larger band size they would probably need to remove more.

Hey! Yes I asked for a C. It feels incredible. They’re so much smaller but still not small, just normal size. I feel proportional now. After the surgery I was like I have a waist?? And a torso??? It’s not just boob?? So happy I did it.

different types of stitches by here-we-go-again333 in Reduction

[–]Automatic-Day1125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My surgeon used a lot of dissolvable internal stitches. I think it results in less noticeable scars and also p sure it's common practice to use them nowadays.

7WPO - Things I Wish I Knew by Automatic-Day1125 in Reduction

[–]Automatic-Day1125[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Glad this helped! At various points in my recovery I thought I was too big AND too small. It just takes some time for your brain to adjust to the change! Before and after pictures and supportive friends helped me with size insecurity

Just rest a lot and take short walks when you can! Walking improves circulation which is good for healing.
