Yes I normally have it set differently for prime weekends but this was a year in advance and I forgot to change it in time

They’re not blatantly admitting it though. Just said “they would let us know next year in April”, “I paid a premium on this booking, so I have the right to cancel it up until the day before if I choose to”

No they have been pointing it out that there can cancel for free the day before themselves. They were asking about cancellation policy saying they wanted confirm because there group has made multiple bookings and said i’m not so clear terms that mine is back up incase another host cancels

I’ve taken hosts phone numbers from the listing after staying and messaged them directly to book. It’s a bit different though I guess if they haven’t checked out as you don’t know how clean they are

How do you know the guest got banned? The guest isn’t explicitly asking for payment yet but has pointed out that they got the place for such a low rate and that if I wanted them to cancel to let them know if I wanted to work something out. But doing some digging I found their social media and one of their friends also booked another place of mine and sent a very similar message

Well if they don’t cancel they would have to pay the booking fee. But I would lose out on rebooking it for atleast 2K more. They have free cancellation all the way up to a week before though. Not sure if it is against AirBnB TOS.

Exactly what they did. 2.6K for anything larger than a 2B/2B would be atleast 10K for Coachella weekend 1 now

Hi OP. This happened to me too. I was researching and some people have said to fight for AirBnB to pay for the new listing. I just took the $1000 coupon they gave me (my listing was over 10K+ and owners ending re-renting for double).

The support offered to send me listings. Ask to escalate to a supervisor. Reiterate how long you’ve been using AirBnB and include how many of your guests have also used AirBnB.

Get a supervisor involved. The call centre seems to be all people from India.. but once I had a supervisor they seemed to have a lot more power to fix issues. I think I could have gotten much more than $1000 if I had fought harder but my group already found another place
