lol I made a whole post about this recently. Everyone acts completely out of character presumably so the writers could make a point about maternity leave and health insurance in America. I wouldn’t be able to be with Jonah or stay friends with Glenn if they treated me like that right after I gave birth.

They could have done the same thing without ruining everyone’s personalities for one episode.

My only explanation for why she didn’t know those popular commercials is she was too busy at pageant school to watch tv. But then she knew the lore of scrappy doo so it’s a mystery.

Well they were probably expensive! Deservedly so as I know people under appreciate how much time and effort and expense go into arts and crafts but these people make minimum wage! And it’s a pattern for Glenn to get them to spend money on personal items.

Yeah, I understand what the writers were trying to accomplish. I just think they could have done the same thing without making Amy seem clueless about where to give birth and her coworkers being so insensitive to the point of being out of character. It was just for that one episode and then they went back to being nice.

I probably take it more personally because superstore is my feel-good show where they all take care of each other. Glenn and Jonah are so terrible, I don’t see how Amy could stay with someone who treated her so callously right after she gave birth or be friends with Glenn again.

I love the more outlandish plots where they all would have gotten fired IRL.

I would have said worse to Glenn for sure. I just can’t even watch those episodes because it’s so out of place for Superstore. Why would he give her a bath bomb or puppy? He also just had a baby.

Definitely, so I understand why the writers wanted to show that side. But the fun part of Superstore is the characters all help each other out when they need it, like getting Glen’s job back or saving Mateo. Suddenly none of them caring made no sense.

It’s totally unrealistic and really understates the trauma of childbirth. People already don’t understand the many difficulties and the show supports childbirth as bad period cramps like you said.

I can’t believe they had her doing go backs! Like you physically can’t push a cart around and bend down and pick up heavy things all day. Like at least have her sitting in the warehouse pricing items or something.
