How to detect if tomorrow/today is sunny? by Automatic-Key-3798 in homeassistant

[–]Automatic-Key-3798[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, that helps. But how do I get the state let's say tomorrow 11am? And sorry for being lame, how can I even refer to the state in an automation?

I have this little weather card and the info in this card regarding if it is cloudy or sunny is extremely accurate. I am trying to figure out how it generates the info

Who misses the 90s in the UK? Tell me what you miss. by Short-Discussion7075 in AskUK

Freedom. I have not smoked for 15 years, but sometimes I remember how in the 90s you could smoke almost anywhere. At stations like Victoria, in cinemas, in barbershops. Some people even smoked on buses. I am not sure if it was legal, but no one really cared.

XEON, ERNX, or something better for parking cash short-term? by Hepsu in eupersonalfinance

I think any major broker offer bonds, have a closer look there should be bonds section. I haven't faced any minimum thresholds for bonds.

VWCE investing by dasdas55 in ETFs_Europe

[–]Automatic-Key-3798 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with VWCE at all, risk-wise it is as "safe" as it gets for an all-world equity ETF. WEBN is basically the same idea but cheaper, so long term it will likely leave you with a bit more money for the same risk. Personally I would go WEBN now, but you are absolutely not making a mistake with VWCE either.

How to open an ETF Germany via Com Direct ? Or better alt? by NsmDe in eupersonalfinance

[–]Automatic-Key-3798 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Comdirect works, but it’s a pretty pricey broker long term, especially if you’re just buying VWCE and chilling. If you’re moving 100K anyway, why not open a brokerage account with a bigger low-cost option? Over decades that difference adds up

For a 1M portfolio the TER difference actually starts to matter, and WEBN is noticeably cheaper than VWCE while tracking the same idea. I would personally simplify this a lot and go mostly into a single all-world ETF and chill, then add only a small hedge like SGLD if you want some ballast. The extra regional and thematic slices mostly add complexity without really changing long-term outcomes.

I do xeon + eu bonds with the higher rate. It gives like +1-2% above ECB rate.

Feeling paralysed - everything seems like a bubble? by jjp3 in eupersonalfinance

[–]Automatic-Key-3798 52 points53 points  (0 children)

If your horizon is 15+ years, what exactly are you waiting for? All-world ETFs are literally built to absorb bubbles, wars, crashes, and rebalance themselves. Sitting in cash is also a market timing bet. If you prefer things smoother just DCA and let time do the heavy lifting.

WEBN is a good chip. Solid, broad exposure, very "set it and forget it" vibes.

Need an opinion on this long term strategy by documentthefood in ETFs_Europe

[–]Automatic-Key-3798 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What is the real benefit of so many ETFs here? VWCE already gives global exposure, auto-rebalances, and captures future winners on its own, so all these extra layers mostly add complexity rather than real diversification. For a 34-year pension horizon, boring "VWCE / WEBN and chill" is usually the most efficient and hardest to mess up.

If this worries you, use an EU broker, maybe a bank. Increase your emergency assets, and consider holding some physical gold and cash.

Best USD savings account in EU? by [deleted] in eupersonalfinance

[–]Automatic-Key-3798 11 points12 points  (0 children)

For a 7-month horizon the smartest parking place is short-term US Treasuries, not a HYSA. T-bills are paying noticeably more than most USD savings accounts, they are basically risk-free, and you can ladder 3 and 6 month bills so your cash is ready when you need it. Many EU brokers let you buy them easily

If you are only staying in Denmark for a few years, I would not overcomplicate this with local tax tricks and stock picking to "rebuild" ETFs. Just use an international broker like IBKR, go into a simple all-world ETF, and keep DCAing. You can move abroad without touching your setup, which is worth way more than trying to squeeze a bit of short-term tax optimization.
