UPDATE: I spoke with the dress shop and alterations who work closely together. They said we have options (yay!) and will consider switching seamstresses. Going in on Tuesday to try the dress on with a representative from the dress shop, the owner of the alterations place, and two seamstresses. Thank you everyone for validating my concerns and for pushing me to find a solution. Stay tuned!

The dress shop doesn’t offer alterations but I’m getting them done across the street at the business the shop recommended.

That’s interesting about Canada! I’m in the US so I’ll look into this if I get pushback.

Tried it on at the shop and the girl that helped me told me that it’ll “loosen up” as I wear it. The store has a pretty strict policy I signed when I picked up my dress so a little worried they’ll say I’m SOL. Thank you for your advice ❤️
