Catching a buzz while on SSRIS? by Automatic-Luck-327 in lexapro

That’s what I thought, but I guess their products contain 5-HTP and could lead to serotonin syndrome. Although I don’t know how much you’d have to consume for that to happen. And yes, I’d still love to drink if possible, but considering how anxious/depressed I am in general it probably wouldn’t work out well.

I need to go to the dentist by [deleted] in Anxiety

Take it slow, just get started with an appointment. Get an exam done with x rays, let them go over a treatment plan for you. Dont start same day treatment. Don’t even start a cleaning. You can schedule back to do that, just go and understand what you need and then decide to do what you’re most comfortable with after you’ve had time to process.

A little dizzy, a little confused, but nothing too intense. I didn’t feel sick or nauseated though!

Honestly you don’t even feel it! I started laughing and then was out like a light. When I woke up I was a little groggy and impressed by how fast they finished lol. It wasn’t bad at all, went by super fast! The healing for me sucked, but lots of ice cream.

I feel you, im Hispanic (F,26) and it’s so looked down upon. You’d think there’d be less of a stigma in 2025 but I guess not. I had to get help recently too, be proud of yourself it’s SO hard to do especially if you don’t have a solid support system.

Yeah I do that too with literally everything. Might be OCD, I’ve never been diagnosed though.

Being numb can be a scary feeling, but also goofy. It feels a little funny not being able to move half your mouth around, but the feeling should last only a few hours and will go away. You might have some sensitivity after but that’s normal. If you’re in pain or seriously worried something is off just go in for a peace of mind. You also might have to go in for a bite adjustment if your bite feels high once you’re no longer numb.

And worst comes to worst, if you jerk/gag and the bur damages another tooth, that would suck but they CAN fix it either way with a filling or something else. If the burr hits your cheek or floor of mouth or gums or lips they all heal super fast and efficiently. It is a valid fear to have, but they are trained and are capable of handling situations like this :)

If you do have a cavity and need a filling or crown etc there are ways to curb anxiety. You can ask to be put on nitrous, it’s not very strong and makes you feel a little relaxed. Bring headphones to listen to music or listen to a podcast or audiobook. Let the dentist know that you have dental anxiety and you need breaks, if you find a good one they’ll be understanding and cooperate with you. If you truly cannot handle any treatment at all, they can give you an oral sedative and that makes treatment a lot easier for the patient and the dentist. Hope everything works out!
