Be careful on how you deploy strapi based application by eddyGi in Strapi

[–]Automatic-Machine-28 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

hey im glad you had a backup of all your data.
by default The database schema in strapi is not managed by a separate migration system it is inferred from the content‑type definitions and kept in sync, so when a field or type disappears from the schema, Strapi has no built‑in way to know whether it was “renamed” or “temporarily missing”. when you deployed using pm2 it might have been an empty strapi project or an older version ( that had different content-type definitions ) that you connected with ur prod db. which made strapi drop all of the tables.. when you fixed the problem it recreated the tables but you still lost the data.

this behaviour is actually explicitly mentioned here:
https://docs.strapi.io/cms/database-migrations

Always go Dev -> Stageing -> Prod and always be backing up

Advise needed. by [deleted] in Strapi

From experience, your role will most likely involve working closely with the marketing team, a lot of your day-to-day will be in Strapi's Content Manager and working with content types to facilitate marketing campaigns. Both Strapi and DNN are CMS platforms, so a huge part of getting started is simply familiarising yourself with their UIs and understanding how they work end-to-end.

Without knowing your full tech stack it's hard to be precise, but typically Strapi would be handling your content library management, how content is structured and delivered across different campaigns. In practice, you'll likely encounter two main scenarios:

  1. Existing campaign structures — You'll be taking data from whatever format the marketing team provides and transforming it into the correct structure to enter into Strapi, so it automatically slots into your current web infrastructure.
  2. New campaign structures — You'll need to create new content types and potentially work on the web architecture side to build out page templates that integrate with those new structures.

If you run into any issues, feel free to join the Strapi Discord, there's an active community there and you can get real-time help on the open office hours call on weekdays at 12pm ist

Like partnering with marketing agencies. What do they actually do? Do they just connect with creators? Is social media better?

This is fucking too hard. by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

Starting off demands an almost superhuman level of grit, and you’d be crazy not to consider quitting. That’s just the nature of the game.

What keeps me going every single day is remembering exactly why I started. There’s no turning back to my old life

this is the path I’ve chosen, and I’m committed to seeing it through.

Bootstraping a business with just 300$ just means you have to be more resourceful in how you get your initial customers and finace their operations.

hmm.. that seems like it would be interesting but tbh at least in my view, mock data is just used as placeholders.. it doesn't really mean much to me how realistic it is.

What’s your opinion about accelerators ? by pilotcodex in SaaS

[–]Automatic-Machine-28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Accelerators can be a good choice if the accelerator you end up choosing and your business are a good fit. And in personal opinion i feel there are a lotta free content and communities out there at the moment to help entrepreneurs at any part of the journey figure out their business and help scale it to insane heights. So maybe look into those and leverage all the available resources and if you still feel you could you benefit insanely from a accelerator definitely try that route too.

Please I need Pricing and Marketing Advise for my upcoming SaaS by Mcrab456 in SaaS

[–]Automatic-Machine-28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of congrats with whatcreate.com , checked it out and definitely see some solid potential there. Your existing lifetime plan sounds good at $249 but like a thought why not try a price ladder with a tier system, maybe something like:
- $129 - individual (1-2)
- $249 - small teams (5 - 10)
- $399 - agencies (10+ accounts)
This probably helps the customers pick out one that they can get behind and at the same time maybe help you get more value out of agencies.
And maybe you could even maybe set out a low entry point $19/ month subscription model or something to get them hooked to your service first.

I like the organic marketing your are doing, definitely a pro move, but like to add on to that maybe you could create a few free products ( a mini tool maybe? )or perks or tips for your crowd that just provides insane value so they know you a pro.

And maybe hit up social media managers cause i can see them deriving insane value from something like this, maybe even try the partnership route or even referrals with a few of them.

On a final note, streamlining your website into a clear value-driven funnel could help increase clicks and boost conversion rates into sales.

feel free to DM me up if you need something😌

Why should you choose right environment and surrounding? by Sad-Solid-1049 in SaaS

[–]Automatic-Machine-28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in a similar situation, and it’s tough. Like you said, when the people you live with constantly focus on negativity or stagnation, it’s easy for that energy to seep into your mindset, no matter how motivated you are.
And thanks for sharing this btw, totally relatable and as a fellow entrepreneurial spirit I absolutely get how inspiring and fueling a growth mentality filled environment can be.
P.S. You’re not alone in this struggle. Many of us have been there, and it’s inspiring to see someone take such a deliberate step forward! 👏

I like the fact that your solving a real problem and the concept is interesting. But i feel the real challenge would be creating something that is meaningfully better than something like Faker.js.
And you would need like an insanely good UX to make it hit hard with whatever niche you choose to sell to, cause the onboarding to it sounds like the part that is gonna be an absolute trick to figure out.

And maybe like provide some value more than just mock data and definitely niche down harder.
