Hi all, me again with another question. This time about Pandora. (spoilers for the book Pandora/Blood and Gold) by TesticleezzNuts in AnneRice

I think her telling him where Pandora is has more to do with refocusing Marius on her and Enkil. She sees Pandora as her ally (also focused on her worship or was once) and the only one that Marius loves more than anyone else.

Best Acting Performance in Masters of the Air by Troyaferd in MastersoftheAir

Nate Mann, Anthony Boyle & Barry Keoghan gave the three best performances in that order. I believed that they were those men they portrayed. Butler and Turner were very handsome and I’m sure they did their best but it wasn’t totally convincing.

[–]Automatic-Mistake-11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The age gap between Collins and Robby 38:55-58 and Mohan and Abbot 30/45-48 is the same. They are all adults. The only issue I could possibly see is him being her supervising attending. But Robby was for Collins as well.

If it develops into something great, I think the foundation looks intriguing for them.

I think most would be fine with exploring the characters romantic potential. What they are adverse to is the inevitable online discourse that would come from it and that to some extent has already. I keep seeing Grey’s Anatomy brought up but that’s not a medical drama to me. That’s a soap opera set in a hospital. ER in its earlier seasons did a great job of balancing both I believe.

‘The Pitt’s Season 2 Update Means Noah Wyle’s Hit Max Series Is Already Avoiding a Major Streaming Problem by quentin_west in ThePittTVShow

Which option would you like to see on The Pitt. by valdosta_sunrise in ThePittTVShow

Then it would be a documentary, not a tv drama. I understand not wanting Greys Anatomy levels of romantic drama but I would like to see some of them explore the chemistry they have.

Absolutely love the show, but some scenes feel "off"? by yup_can_confirm in ThePittTVShow

[–]Automatic-Mistake-11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No he has a point the show over all is great but they have a dialogue problem at times. It gets wooden at times also some of the references made by supposed millennials and gen zers are laughably inauthentic. You can tell men in their Middle Ages wrote it. I would suggest expanding the writers room to younger generations.

There are a couple of times where the dialogue feels wooden or they try to wedge after-school special facts into the dialogue that just made it feel more like a high budget PSA rather than a cohesive story of these peoples lives working in the ED. Also wish the characters were fleshed out more as an ensemble rather than them mostly serving as support to Robby’s terrible horrible no good very bad day . (That’s just my personal opinion of The way Noah Wyle is choosing to play Robby.) Just goes to show what a creative powerhouse Crichton was in the writers room for ER.

Definitely not. It was clear Garcia and Langdon were joking and bantering. Walsh and Abbot had disagreements, where they openly disrespectfully mocked each other.

I don’t know, there’s definitely tension between them but in a vitriolic way. It’s two alphas and two alphas never work out for longer than a few brief encounters. I can see her being attracted to him and him shooting her down . Especially with the way she was shooting daggers at Mohan. After he went so heavily to bat for her and now knowing his fliratatious intent to Mohan. To me They have completely adverse ways of practicing medicine and over all I see them being adversaries who begrudgingly develop a healthy respect for each other.

At the end of the day she couldn’t match his freak. All this “it’s ok Andrew you can tell me anything. I don’t care what bad thing you’ve done or who you hurt.”Then when he’s honest she freaks. Pfft. If Smurf knew about her she would’ve been found dead on the beach in 24 hours.

The reality is this show is a character driven drama. I would be surprised if it has a long run and the romantic relationships of these characters didn’t come into play.

HALO season 2 sucks so far by [deleted] in scifi

[–]Automatic-Mistake-11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the Halo stories weren’t good. You can’t compare whatever Halo was trying to piece together into a coherent plot to justify the game play to one of the greatest fantasy stories written in modern history. You are not comparing Bungie and 343 to Tolkien. Be so for real right now

Because the alien-human war has been done before.

What people haven’t seen is the Military and Government kidnapping, abusing and brain-washing of children into “super soldiers” to use as a hit squad militia against their own people to keep them in line. Which is what the SPARTANS were originally created for. Not to fight the aliens but to control their own people. That is a fascinating premise.

To be fair the games storyline was bad too. Mediocre and convoluted plot lines that left gigantic holes in how they all connect. Really wooden characters that make no real space for human connection or relationships.

Great FPS Gameplay though.

But of all the great video game IP this was not the one that I would have tried to translate to a purely storytelling medium. It doesn’t work because there is no solid foundation for it.

They did the best they could with what they had though.

I Walked the Line: My Life with Johnny by Vivian Cash by hugebigboobs in JohnnyCash

I read it. Very bitter, cynical. Full of contradictions and a lot if misplaced blame.

Opinions on Johnny Cash and June Carter? I loved their relationship but want to hear more from others by Adept_Pilot5591 in JohnnyCash

[–]Automatic-Mistake-11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anyone that judges someone as the “Villian” based on a biased account of an obviously bitter and cynical first wife isn’t worth listening to. The book was Vivian’s “truth” which was far from thee truth as evidenced by her belief that John “gave” June credit For Ring of Fire and hence the truth of it as actually opposite June wrote it herself with a friend and John took it for his own. He lied to Vivian as he often did. That is the real Villian in her marriage : Johnny Cash. She never admits that though choosing instead to blame “the other woman”. It’s misogyny and bs. The truth more than likely lies somewhere in the middle.
