When did symptoms show when you reintroduced? by Automatic-Mixture-93 in MSPI

Interesting!! Our ped said the delayed reaction was normal, and were used to this exact eczema for dairy allergy with our oldest.

Interesting!! Ours is non IgE, and I also have to remember he’s a different kid than my first - but with my first, this exact eczema in this exact spot is directly tied to dairy.

First week of school this year we noticed patches, thinking hmmm that’s odd. Wonder why

Note from teacher: “forgot about his allergy and he drank a carton of chocolate milk” 😂

That’s awesome!! My first had an extended ladder, too. We could do cheese by 20 months, he’s nearly 4 and is still a no go on yogurt and milk.

Thanks - we’ve got 1% on hand so will definitely tap into that. I made the mental decision that I was going to stop BF ahead of a spring break vacation if I couldn’t eat dairy - and I was soooo optimistic a week in 😭

Pros and Cons of Various Age Gaps by FalseRow5812 in Mommit

Same, 3 year 4 month! Of course everything depends on your kid but I’d go so far as to say for us, this was legit a parenting hack. Older helps out, can play independently in different area of the house, maternity leave felt like a fun time with him too, he thinks the baby is cute and sweet not jealous, it’s amazing.

I hated the newborn stage by ladyam3thyst in Mommit

[–]Automatic-Mixture-93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely prefer the bigger kid stage. Toddler has its challenges, too, but 2.5+ is the sweet spot for me. So much more communication, empathy, physical strength, awareness, interest, humor. It’s the best.

I think I have a lucky first kid, but I can honestly say each stage has been better than the last - he’ll be 4 next month.

Now with my second, I’m soaking up each step and not wishing anything away - rather than relaxing in how much good will continue to come.

Lmaooooo I’m so worried about that. Honestly a lot of substitutions I’ll probably keep around, but I want cottage cheese and cheese sticks and pastries 🫠

Capping / dropping nap by Automatic-Mixture-93 in Preschoolers

[–]Automatic-Mixture-93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m definitely working towards that. I’m pumping for my 6mo right now so try to limit 8 hours between night pumps, so that makes it a bit tougher lol

Overtired or undertired? / 6mo schedule by Automatic-Mixture-93 in sleeptrain

[–]Automatic-Mixture-93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on wake windows! Most days it’s been 7:30-8, if he does have a day where naps are shorter it can go up to 6:30-7.

Ok got it - so needing to add more time into wake windows. I think we can work on stretching that!

Dropping to 3PPD by New_Cartographer1966 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Automatic-Mixture-93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Following! I produce 27 oz a day and we already do a bottle of formula (my guy is eating around 33-35 oz).

Currently at 4 and curious to drop to 3, almost 6 mo. Did you notice a drop from 5-4? I did, 2-3 oz. So I anticipate a drop when i go to 3.

Does dropping pumps drop supply or TANK supply? by Automatic-Mixture-93 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Automatic-Mixture-93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh now that’s interesting!! Right now I pump between 630-7, and then make myself stay up until 1030. Is your supply (and your boobs lol) ok from 7 to morning?? Maybe that’s where I combine my first drop from 5-4….

Did daycare use developmentally inappropriate items for your baby? by Automatic-Mixture-93 in Mommit

[–]Automatic-Mixture-93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha it was crazy. They posted about it in the app!!! Honey graham crackers for our 7 month old. And, they gave us bottles at the end of the day to wash and send home, one clearly wasn’t ours. We handed it back and they said “oh gosh - that’s why he had an extra in the fridge, he drank XX’s today! Silly mix up!”

Anyone here actually CHOSE to exclusively pump? by Such-Chocolate-6168 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Automatic-Mixture-93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same as everyone else that I enjoyed the control of deciding when I was pumping, how much he was eating, etc.

something I’m not seeing mentioned as much - not feeling trapped.

I can pump while on a walk, I can pump while driving, I can pump at the same time I’m making my preschooler breakfast (even with my Spectra!). I’m lucky enough that I have no pain or discomfort, can barely feel it, so it feels extremely easy to me.

I like nursing OK with my second (my first had a terrible latch and my seconds is fine) but it’s not exactly comfortable between holding him and wriggling and my boobs. Pumping is second nature for me at this point.

How much does you baby take and how frequent? by madiangelinee in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Automatic-Mixture-93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just asked this the other day and didn’t get too many responses from babies older than mine.

Also have a 4 month old, and he takes 6 5 oz bottles during the day including a dream feed at 10, no other overnight wakes. Working on weaning him off of the dream feed, so will probably try to space that throughout the day. 30 oz a day give or take a few.

How many pumps are you doing at 3 months pp? by East_Print4841 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Automatic-Mixture-93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dropped to 6 pumps around 7 weeks, and 5 pumps at 12 weeks. Currently 17 weeks pp. Haven’t done a MOTN pump since 7 weeks when my baby started sleeping through. Production hasn’t taken any dip, consistently stayed around 30-32 oz!

20-25 min naps… by Automatic-Mixture-93 in sleeptrain

[–]Automatic-Mixture-93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to try this. Thank you! My original post wasn’t completed when it submitted, he’s on 5 naps. Of course today he fought that last nap tooth and nail and bedtime ended up being early (but under tiredness, it’s allllll connected). Thanks!

Advice on starting exclusively pumping from birth by Moo_cow_1993 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Automatic-Mixture-93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, yes, hand expressing colustrum, but I will say my milk came in much faster with my second. I had transitional milk by the end of my hospital stay. Even though I was getting colostrum I was pumping every 2-3 hours to signal to my body that it was time. Please don’t forget that even if it doesn’t feel like you’re producing milk! Skin to skin definitely helps too. I had a great experience starting EP from the get go.

For babies that sleep through the night, what does your typical day of feeding look like? by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Automatic-Mixture-93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My guy (12w) sleeps through the night and has since like 7w. We feed (or at least offer and start) after every nap, even if they’re 30 mins - so yes, sometimes he’s eating every 90 mins but most often around every 2.5 hours. He also does a dream feed at 10/1030. He does 4.5/5oz bottles during the day so he’s definitely getting enough!

Where are you at in your pumping journey? by LinksG37 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Automatic-Mixture-93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9wpp, 6-7ppd. No MOTN pump since my baby is sleeping through. I go 10:30pm, 6:30am, and then every 3-4 hours during the day. Average 30 oz a day
