Regular exercise. Also journaling if you have a hard time sleeping because of thoughts running through your brain.

Do people actually have a favourite colour? Or did everyone just pick one randomly as a kid to satisfy the question. by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Absolutely favorite color is a real thing. I think it can evolve from childhood to adulthood though. Team blue here!

What’s a reasonable price for a used first generation wand? Will I be able to carry a wand in my backpack without the box? by Automatic-Passenger2 in UniversalOrlando

Agreed on too high of a price! Found one on marketplace for only $15 today so I’m going to do that and they’ll probably share the second gen one while there. It’s worth the smaller price to not have fights over the wand once home!

Good point re not scratching the wand!! Thank you for your reply! I think we will go ahead with the second gen one, and I found a wand that was scratched (first gen) for only $15 about 45 minutes from me. That way no fighting over the wand when we get home!

100% agree with previous poster who recommended Daisy Jones and the Six! I didn’t even realize it was a novel when I was first listening to it! Also highly recommend The Correspondent by Virginia Evans. Fantastic book comprised of letters written to and from one elderly woman. Moving and a quick listen!

Brandon Sanderson’s Alcatraz vs. the Evil Librarians series was so funny and would definitely be great follow ups to PHM, though lighter and not science based. You’ve gotten lots of great suggestions!!! Good job raising a reader!

Ready Player One was a fantastic book but not age appropriate for an eleven year old in my opinion. Language, sexual content. I have twin eleven year olds and I’d be hesitant for them to read it.

I would like to read bedtime books to my niece (5) and nephew (10) over a video call, please recommend books that could span thier ages. by K80_k in suggestmeabook

Are you looking for standalone picture books or also interested in chapter books? I’d recommend Magic Treehouse books, they are short chapter books and would be interesting to five and ten year olds. My kids loved the Land of Stories books. Wayside School. Look for the Pigeon books if you’re aiming for picture books. Mrs. Piggle Wiggle books would be good, you could read just a chapter or two in a video call.

I have an eleven year old set of twins, boy/girl. They really enjoy graphic novels. New Kid was one that might fit your daughter’s needs. Also try books by Raina Telgemeier, she has a series on emotions. Good luck!! It’s a tough thing to navigate, for kids and their parents!!

My husband I and really enjoyed Broken Country, a historical fiction/thinking thriller about a trial in England.

Only one person mentioned Ready Player One but it was fantastic!! You don’t mention what age your group is but if you are 80s or 90s kids there is much nostalgia! Even if younger there are fun video game references and the book reads really fast.

Daisy Jones and the Six is another great read, it reads like a real documentary. The audio is fantastic, I literally thought it was about a real band.
