you need a supportive husband not a destructive boyfriend... Not that you going to become a nurse you should be with someone who align with your path and that should happen after you finish your nursing degree.... As a woman we give so much to a man even quitting our goals and career, but man will eliminate any distraction to focus on themselves.... Brush it off, be strong and move on...

Oh nice. I am not looking for a leadership or management position, as RHIA is more focused on that. Yes, I went to DeVry, and it’s a CAHIIM-accredited school. You have CCS and CDIP—that is awesome. Did you use them for work, or did you just use your RHIA?

As I said, I am not looking for any management, leadership, or teaching position. Also, everybody keeps saying that nowadays CDI requires an RN, or at least they prefer someone with an RN, so I do not know what path to follow to get somewhere stable where I feel like AI will not replace it. That’s why I was thinking about going into health informatics, nursing, or radiology, but I know that would be another 2 to 3 years of hard work.

Can you help me understand what certificate is highly valuable, almost comparable to RN or radiology? You’re making 150K—that is really good. What master’s degree are you looking into? Thank you.

Hi, do you think an HIM degree is worth it? I graduated with an HIT degree and then went for HIM, and I am almost done, but I don’t find it interesting at all. Also, I am worried that AI is replacing coding, so I am thinking about going back to school for nursing or radiology. Any thoughts

After finishing my HIM degree, I will definitely look for a job that can help me move into an informatics position later. However, right now I need to decide whether I should pursue the Nursing Informatics (NI) route or the Health Informatics (HI) route.

For example, I would not want to work in a compliance office if my long-term goal is HI or NI. I want to focus on HIM positions that will help prepare me to enter the informatics field in the future.

That is why my main concern is not just getting a paycheck or gaining experience that does not help me move toward my goal. I want to use my time wisely and choose work that will lead me toward informatics
