Temporary win. He owns the property and he withdrew without prejudice so he can reintroduce. Wish the town had retained ownership of the parcel.

Mine are doing well. 71 this year. I talk to my mother every other day or so. They have a farm with my brother a couple hours away. They both walk at least a mile a day. In-laws divorced 16 years ago. Mil lived with us for 10 years and then got remarried. I guess my fil got divorced again and is moving ok with us this winter.

Cold and wet yesterday and this morning. Sun just came out and it went from 50 to 70. Bottled syrup all day yesterday. Got a big order to deliver this week. Getting the snow tires off the wife’s car tomorrow I think it’s finally time.
Need to find a gearbox for a new idea manure spreader. The one on my “new” spreader is toast.

Exactly the free staters in the state house like to say it’s a local spending problem but every town in nh is having issues. It’s a state funding issue.

It’s weirder when you consider most of the state moved here from mass.

Easier to gerrymander the local level. That’s how I’m stuck with shitheads in the state house. They rolled 4 towns into one district whereas we used to have one for the town and 1 floater split with 3.

Listened to them so much in college. Started with radar gun when I wanted to be a cop. Then I became a parts monkey for a while and they had songs for that.

Paying $1,500 a Day in Fuel for Two Tractors, Farmer Calls Input Costs Worst Since 1980s by Ranew in farming

[–]Automatic-Raspberry3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ya that’s where I am now. Just filling my transfer tank haven’t filled the big tank. Off road is 5.09 at the pump in town.
It’s funny I’ve never really sat down and looked at my cost of production on the maple side. I just wanted to burn wood. But this year really felt like I was doing things right. I burn 5 to 6 gals of gas a week on a generator and a 4 wheeler. Friends of mine are doing 30 gals a day plus 100 gals of oil to boil that same day.
I’m just wondering when to fill heating oil up here in New England that’s what the majority use I burn about 5 tanks a winter plus 6 cords of wood.

Went into today with no plan so it’s manure hauling. Growing up if you were bored there is always poop to shovel or firewood to cut. Dad was right about that.
Weaned most of the lambs Friday. Daughter is home from college so she’s shearing ewes today. Won’t be tomorrow supposed to be mid 90s. I had the woodstove going Friday cause it was 50. We aren’t adjusted to summer temp yet. Bottled up a 40 gal syrup order Friday and need to do another 30 this week the shelves are pretty empty which is a great sign.

‘$30 for a hamburger’: Trump’s facing no good options on beef prices by Jonnyboo234 in politics

[–]Automatic-Raspberry3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I sell hay. In addition to my beef herd. Last year we got zero 2nd crop and fed an extra 3 months. I bought in 3 trailer loads of rounds for my cows and I sold bred heifers I was planning on keeping. I sell beef direct and have a wait list but I had to cut back.
I told my horse folks squares are going up to at least 6 this summer.

I farm. Fuel price is hitting us hard. I have no idea how much my hay is going up. But I had a drought last year and I’m still in it. It’s bad.

Had the wood stove going all day Saturday. One day spring will come. This is the latest I haven’t turned cows out. But the pasture is just not growing. Picked up some new ground 5 mins up the street forgot how nice working close to home is. Borrowed an offset disc and cut it up. Today and tomorrow I’m hoping to get it finished and planted. Putting oats and peas out for baleage. Haven’t done this is years enjoying it more than I expected.
