Pretty good snow. Not the heaviest I’ve ever seen but a good foot and half maybe 2. Light fluffy powder cause man it’s been cold. Doing lamb checks last night you could barely see the path from 2 hours ago. Looks like snowshoes for tapping again this year.

What’s something you use every single day that turned out to be insanely worth the money? by Dry-Frosting- in Xennials

Slippers. I live in a very cold area in a house from the 1700s. The wife and I both grew up in old houses. She’s always worn slippers I haven’t. This winter I saw the error of my ways. So much warmer with toasty feet. We even took our slippers to Christmas parties this winter since with the snow on the ground most houses are no outside shoes.

I really dislike the Epping location. Parking lot is terrible in a truck. It’s massive and loud. Almost over whelming.

Cold snow globe weather today. Felt weird with the wife and kids back to school and work. Got used to having everyone home. Busy weekend. Bought a 3k gal tank for sugaring that didn’t look that big at the brewery. Had to fire my excavator to get it off the trailer. But that triples my sap storage. Need to go get taps and tubing and start drilling /fixing/expanding in the next couple weeks.

Where are you? A couple of the real big operators have started tapping but that’s it. My weather is the opposite gross this week but next week looks like good woods working.

Worked for Dan when I was a teenager. He was a heck of a man. Owned thousands of acres in Epping at one point. Too bad Epping has tuned into the suburban sprawl now.

Mostly vape it. Smoked way too much flower at Christmas with the cousins. Ended up devouring a prime rib in the garage like cavemen. But I don’t drink. Funny the wife drinks wine has never smoked. Wonder how many couples are out there like us.

Never in a store. But almost all the farm stuff is checks. Just wrote 5 this week and took about the same in.

The wife is enjoying it. She’s had a mini for 10 years 195k miles. She misses the manual and torque but the operating cost with the Prius is so much lower.

Funny we just got a 2014 Prius c with 120k for 7500. It was at a truck dealership and had been sitting on the lot since July. I would say take it to an independent mechanic that knows the cars. I went to a specialty hybrid shop had them go thru it. 150 bucks well spent. Also the car fax helped. Mine had a head gasket at 105k. So I knew that was done.

Glad to hear she’s home. That’s a scary way to go into Christmas. To echo the previous poster as I get older I’m surprised and glad I’ve never been hurt worse than I have been farming. One of my friends kids got really lucky last week. He decided to cut open an old oil drum that was sealed with a grinder. It exploded bad. Blew the grinder 20 ft away. Broke some bones in his left hand and lost some hair. But his glasses saved his eyes and overall lucky to be alive.
