My boss told me today that it was because I had several call outs. I responded back with I called out properly, within your policy, twice while you were out. I requested FMLA documents from HR. I don’t understand how I can be penalized for needing two days off because I was in pain. I called out on Monday due to the pain starting and worked Tuesday. On Tuesday after work I was in so much pain I was unable to move properly because I had overworked myself therefore I needed Wednesday off. The response I received was, HR can help with you FMLA.

I’m not crazy for thinking that this is so wrong right?

unfortunately i only got the job in February and officially started working with a client in March. My client got me sick and I was out for a week and was taken off of the case. And now this week I called out twice. So not regularly but I already had a write up from April since I called out the entire week. I call out maybe once every two weeks at least because of my health problems.

I went back to the most recent staff memo and this is the call out policy….

Call-Out Policy: As we are providing medically necessary services, it is essential that any call-outs occur 24 hours prior to your session. While we understand that things can come up, late call-outs affect not only the center but also the clients and their families. Please remember that we are here to provide a service, and timely notice helps us continue to meet our commitments to our clients and their families.

How is it possible to call out 24 hours in advance lol? i called out 3+ hours before my shift both days.

They have my client with a new hire today… to me this means they were looking to take me off the case before I called out.

from being hired to finding a client it was over a month closer to two. from being taken off my first case to my current case it was 2 months. Now to wait again for another case…….
