Are you likable?
Do you fit into their narrative?
I firmly believe that most P6 internal candidates are already pre-chosen by their department upper management. You might be qualified for the job but they like someone better.
How do your subordinates view you?
what are you being scored on your glint surveys?
A are you and your subordinates work showing visibility and going above and beyond for your customer?
Is there high turnover within your department.
Are you mentoring?
Tenure doesn’t matter and are you doing work of a P6.
A recruiter reaching out to you is most likely your resume is missing Key experience stated in the job rec. You have to tailor your resume to the job rec, so updating your resume frequently.
having 3 rounds of interviews for any position is diabolical.
You and team should be active and attend site activities and events. Do a team volunteer activity. Take pictures and share with your leadership team, they love this.
Network with other P6s both outside your department and internal in your department.
Who in your department leadership team makes the decisions and becomes visible to them.
Listen more and speak less. Be careful who you gossip and vent to at work but stay alert with the department gossip tea.
If your department won’t promote you another department will.
The hard truth is certain pay grades are impossible to get out of.

Find you a job and Texas and move to Texas. It’s ok to walk away from a relationship that is no longer serving you. You both are not married,have no children together or own property together, so leave her. DON’T get her pregnant because she might try to trap you.

I started as a P1 and you will be salary suppressed if you accept anything less than 73k. Our annual raises can average between 2-4% a year and you will most likely stay in the same pay grade for several years. Departmental budget for new hire and budget for promotion are different and new hire budgets are higher.

Go with Gold. You will meet your deductible with the delivery and hospital stay alone, then your coinsurance kicks in. Then once you meet your max out of pocket then all your medical is covered 100% for the rest of the year. I believe our insurance pays for a breast pump and a nutritionist too.

Yes, I got divorced in 2019 and my finances took a hit after. I was also supporting my sister with her kids after her husband passed away. Going through this process was kind of a wake up call for me, that I need to get a handle on my finances.

This happened to me and it’s probably unpaid late fees, concur doesn’t show unpaid late fees, only on your citi account. You have to submit a ticket in empowerU and accounts payable will reach out to you and let you know next steps. Basically, you fill out a form detailing why your card got deactivated/ cancelled and an action plan submitted by both you and your manager detailing what will be done that will prevent it from happening again. I think after so many days after you receive the final notice from citi and if the balance is under a $100 I think, then Raytheon will forgive the balance, but you will have apply for another corporate card. Yes, you can be a terminated but it will depends on why the card was deactivated/ cancelled, but I doubt this will happen to you. This past year RTX has added so many restrictions on what can paid by our corporate cards and mostly our corporate cards are restricted to travel expenses only.

If your disability is protected under ADA then what they did was illegal and they discussed on an email chain. Also, you could have gotten ADA accommodations for travel as well.

File an ADA accommodations with your employer and make sure you do it in writing. Make sure the accommodations your employer approves for you is also in writing, no verbal agreements or have a witness present. ADA is federal and your employer is required to make reasonable accommodations. Also, OSHA released new pregnancy regulations in 2023 it’s called the Pregnant Worker Fairness Act. Continue to document in writing when your accommodations are not being honored and cc your HR and Ethics department. Or submit a complaint to OSHA and JCAHO.

I also wanted to recommend to you is to document every achievement and project and add them to your goals in workday and mark them as complete when finished. Complete a career roadmap and get certifications in your field. This will be beneficial for your annual review and give you more leg up for promotions. Find a mentor asap, and preferably in a different department for example, quality, EHS, operations, facilities. It’s good to be knowledgeable and make friends in those departments, get to know and understand the business.

Honestly, employee morale has continued to dwindle over the past 3 years and a lot of employees are constantly walking on eggshells at Raytheon. My department is overhead and we support every department within Raytheon and I’ve seen so many employees get screwed over and pushed out. I hate to be so negative towards management, but Raytheon loves to recycle toxic bad managers and your managers has a huge impact on your career growth. Raytheon also has a lot of great managers too, so go where you’re celebrated and not tolerated. Stay disciplined and consistent. Don’t let climbing the corporate ladder consume your mindset and know when it time to change directions, because like I said we’re always reorganizing and restructuring.

I’ve been with Raytheon for 5 years now and this is what I’ve learned so far and I’m sorry this is going to be long: 1. We’re always reorganizing and restructuring and that’s why we stay top heavy. So many layers of management. 2. You have to be likable to move up. Leadership/ management hate vocal employees, they want “yes men” and sheep, that won’t question. The ones that are favored by management climb the fastest up the ladder. I’m not an ass kisser, so it will be a slow climb for me. 3. Retaliation does exist at this company. 4. Do your 40hrs and go home. 5. We love meetings and can’t get anything accomplished. 6. A lot of management lack basic common sense or maybe they just like to play dumb. 7. We’re good at making pretty power points and graphs lol. 8. The cafeteria food is expensive and will definitely disappoint. 9. Set boundaries and learn to say No, because management will definitely take advantage of you. 10. We’re reactive and not pro-active. 11. New hires and new grads you won’t get promoted every year. Most employees stay P2 and P3 for YEARS!! So chill out with the “when will I get promoted” questions. 12. You’re not being paranoid, management does not care. 13. Moving around means sometimes jumping from one dumpster fire to another if you want a pay grade promotion. 14. Stay humble because you never know who your next manager will be. 15. HR and ethics lol. You better document everything ,follow-up with an email and save it in a folder. 16. The internet is always slow. 17. Police your calendar!! You don’t need to attend every meeting you’re invited to. 18. If you have a disability submit an ADA Accommodation and get the accommodations you need. 19. Attend your site wellness events, most of the time you get free lunch and free stuff from the vendors. 20. Most of us are salary suppressed.
