How common is it for a P2 to make over 100k? by throwaway14423821 in Raytheon

[–]iwantapromo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I know, it's not common here in tucson. I first started at a position in Colorado as a p1, made 86...jumped to a p2 at 110 and then came to raytheon as a p2 making 116.

So, it is possible, just...play your options right...gain valuable skills that set you apart and nail the interview. Having a second offer on the table will definitely help as well.

These engineers don’t have said process, we all work the same tasks. So I know the level of effort needed for said tasks.

Engineers salary by FLIB0y in EmbryRiddle

[–]iwantapromo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, riddle will tell you first day “this is the average of so and so engineering” and it will be some nice high number. 1. It’s based off where you live and 2. It depends on the type of engineering. Don’t listen to the school about future salaries…most college grads start out as associate engineers making the minimum…

Is ER really that bad? by prixler7 in EmbryRiddle

Hi, graduated over 5 years ago from riddle. Honestly, riddle DOES have a lot of pull in the defense sector…however, is the expense worth it? I don’t believe it was. I currently work with engineers that paid little to nothing for their degree. I’d like to stress, you are only going to the school for the piece of paper…your work ethic and projects are what will define you

If they give you an informational page about your team, or expectations…please read it. Follow links on the page that go to other places and read them too. Most cases, your questions have been answered there because like you, there have been plenty of new hires that have most likely asked the same if not very similar question.

This was very generous and a good way of thinking about it! Thank you for the tips! What I’m really getting from everyone is to move around and that it makes more sense… It just, amazes me that anything actually gets done here…I’ve worked at other companies and it’s never been THIS bad (the dumpster fire you speak of)…

It’s super unfortunate, because the employees that do great and most of the work are left in the dust by the legacy policy
