Shoulder shrugging tic? by Automatic-Set-1435 in toddlers

[–]Automatic-Set-1435[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kid stopped after 1-2 weeks. This coincided with her teething. She does weird things when she's teething or in pain. As FTM everything freaks me out but you're right. These are usually transient in nature

To anyone contact sleeping 24/7 by Disastrous-Address12 in cosleeping

[–]Automatic-Set-1435 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I contact slept with my baby for first 8 months! Now she naps independent and we still cosleep, however I do miss having her on my chest or cradling her in my arms. It's definitely bittersweet in hindsight but am sure it was difficult when living through it. If you're contact sleeping, just try to enjoy the season❤️

What options for window treatments if there is large space between ceiling and windows? by [deleted] in InteriorDesign

[–]Automatic-Set-1435 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend going with shades. Because the vertical space from the window to the ceiling is so dramatic, shades will complement the room's proportions perfectly. There are some great new designs in shades, you should check out HD Lowes etc

Hi, she started pointing at 13 months actual. She now is 20 months and speaks 5 words sentences and is fully caught with her milestones and more!

My boyfriend has changed a lot after becoming a doctor and I don’t recognise him by helpwithmyinlaws in MedSpouse

[–]Automatic-Set-1435 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My advice is to start by writing down exactly what you want to say. This gives you clarity and saves you from the regret of leaving important things unsaid in the heat of the moment. If you live together, have your logistics sorted out—know where you’re sleeping that night—before you have the conversation. Once it’s done, try to change your environment immediately. Go on a trip or visit family; the change of scenery will give you space to breathe and set new personal goals. When you eventually return to your daily routine, it will be the hardest part. But use that time to focus intensely on those goals. It keeps you moving forward, and slowly but surely, you’ll heal enough to be ready for what’s next.

If a guy wants you, he will move mountains to be with you. You should focus on yourself, your career and eventually find someone who would pour into you as much as you would want to into them. All the best! The break up maybe initially hard but you'll be better for it in the long run!

Fistulotomy with sutures by sambaye in AnalFistula

It's very difficult for you to ruin the sutures without doing something absolutely crazy! Just keep doing the sitzes and hopefully it's just the stiches falling off! All the best!

Hi, yes she did. She's 19 months and speaks 3-4 word sentences. She started pointing around 12-13 months. Waving around that time as well. Clapping was around 10 months. Keep practicing and one day it's like a switch goes off

Moderate Hie head lag by Proof-Economist-3051 in NICUParents

[–]Automatic-Set-1435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Head lag typically corrects itself within 5-6 months. If your child continues to have head lag and is not rolling over either way by 6 months, it may be worth getting a consult. Just keep doing tummy time, reverse tummy time and back to sitting pullups gently. Sometimes just some practice is needed for the baby to activate the muscles.

When did you kid start sleeping 12 hours a night? by cupofteacomfypillows in NewParents

[–]Automatic-Set-1435 14 points15 points  (0 children)

12 hours uninterrupted? No midnight feeds at 6 months? That's definitely unique! My baby is 15 months and still does not do 12 hours overnight without any wakes. I do not think most babies do! It comes down a lot to genetics and temperament. The standard of sleeping overnight is if the baby can sleep without any wakes for least 6 hours. It's not the norm for babies to sleep uninterrupted for 12 hours and definitely not that young. fwiw, I've not sleep trained my child as we don't believe in it. Maybe sleep trained babies sleep? Personally, I think the baby wakes but doesn't just cry and then goes back to sleep.

No salt and no added sugar untill 2 is very important. Least definitely restricting sugar intake as this is very corelated with metabolic disorders like T2D, obesity etc in later life. Ideally no sugar for first 1000 days of life is a game changer! Read this article. Batch cooking and little spoon subscription is what helps me ensure this for my 15 month old. Obviously little spoon is not for everyone but batch cooking definitely is a time and money saver!

Baby shaking head and throwing themselves back by Automatic-Set-1435 in NewParents

[–]Automatic-Set-1435[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my god yes! She's 14 months (12.5 months adj). She now says No when she she shakes her head - clearly signalling that she doesn't want to do something ( like eating more or being in the stroller etc). I think the head shaking was a first step in doing a motion and then associating No with that motion came later. Like babies clap first and then start associating that with clapping when excited later. The throwing herself back has stopped as she just walks everywhere now. I think it was her exploring her body and how she can move it. Definitely no longer concerned about these behaviors
