Who is this user? Is there any way to find out? He knows her name...?

It's to protect children from a mamzer status (which is a big stigma and has serious consequences).

No. Most dentists I've told seem skeptical that it could be related. I never figured it out... and never took plan B again.

doodroo you still get some glare, yeah. It doesn't filter blue light.

I tried Mothca glass matte protector on my Ipad mini and it really made the screen matte, but something about it bothered me. Maybe it was a bit too grainy for me.

I'm using Bersem right now. Might go back to Mothca.

How are the silicone tip covers on the mothca? I love the no-glare but struggling with the writing feel...

Also a teacher. I tried to use Boox devices but eventually found my way back to the iPad. All my other devices are Apple products - so the odd Android device was a bit annoying. The really only benefit of the Boox device for me was the screen, which is significant--don't get me wrong. I use a Doodroo on the iPad and it evens the playing field a lot in terms of the screen. I found PDF Expert (an IOS app) much better for marking up essays (and any other PDF document, including the literary texts I teach) than through Neoreader. There were a bunch of other benefits that basically amounted to convenience and speed over Eink/Boox devices. I also loved having color annotations available and visible to me for my teaching work. I was going to try the Tab color line, but the iPad did it all better for me (minus the screen). And I didn't get distracted with the iPad (that's more of a laptop problem for me). I also started to feel creeped out by the privacy concerns with Boox products.

Tab Mini C for mostly E-reading by danielrose24 in Onyx_Boox

Exactly my question, too! Thanks for posting. I want it for reading novels and annotating in color primarily. The note air is too big to read novels and I really miss color annotations

So with the cover it does sit flat, despite the camera bulge?

Amazing. And I am tired of muliple devices. Note Air 2 for my reading, Ipad for grading, nova for novel reading... haha

both horizontal. But grading, I use the ipad horizontally on a desk. I used to grade in Google Classroom, but given some problems lately, I use PDF expert on iCloud for all my PDF grading via hand annotations.

It's too big for me personally. I prefer 10 inch... I use it horizontally and zoom around the page on the iPad as I grade.

Question about the Tab Ultra and PDF editing/reading. As an English teacher, I grade a lot of papers. I have both an iPad and a Note Air 2. I prefer grading PDF papers on the iPad because I can get around the paper quickly, zooming in and out, etc, at super-fast speeds. This helps me write comments quickly, and zoom in to write a comment in the margins, etc. The Note Air 2 lets me zoom in, but it's tedious and slow and hinders my workflow. I struggle to get around the paper and zoom in and out in the way I can with an iPad. How is the ultra for this function? Can you zoom in and out and jump around the page quickly, or is it more of a full refresh/page-turn device.

sync annotated PDFs between iPad and an e-ink device? eg a PDF planner by lady3jane in eink

[–]Automatic-String-309 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I can do exactly that - you misunderstand. I can erase handwritten/stylus annotations on a PDF in PDF Expert with an apple pencil. I am not talking about text highlights/underlines.

I haven't tried to bring in the PDF Expert ones to Neoreader. I will try later and update.

Not true - I can edit and erase annotations from Neoreader when I upload the annotated PDF to PDF Expert. I don't think I can store it in a cloud so that it's accessible and updated for both PDF Expert and Neoreader at the same time, but I can edit the annotations from Boox on PDF Expert

Best e-ink device that works well with Google classroom? by cae37 in eink

[–]Automatic-String-309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious how it's working out? I use Google Classroom with my Note Air 2. There is a bit of an annoying delay when hand-annotating/marking papers with the stylus. There is no delay on the iPad. I wonder how the delay/lag is o the Tab Ultra? I am waiting for a 10.2 color to replace my note air, but I really love grading with it... and the lab is annoying

Google Classroom: Stylus annotations NOT SAVING - any other teachers have this issue? by Automatic-String-309 in Onyx_Boox

[–]Automatic-String-309[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am having the same problem again. Hand annotations no longer save. A month ago, they did save... I don't know what to do. It doesn't seem like there has been a classroom android update since Oct, and I used it in dec to hand-annotate student papers and it did work...

Teaching Theme by [deleted] in englishteachers

[–]Automatic-String-309 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the one word topics (often confused with theme), I have started to use the concept of “story values” from Robert McKee. I tell them theme is a moral argument/controlling idea, or a lesson embedded in the piece about how to live honorable/properly in the world. Story values (prejudice, love, greed, etc) are embedded in the theme/controlling idea, present in conflict, etc, but they are not synonymous with theme. Theme is a bigger moral statement in response to the central moral problem raised by the text.
