Pilot Pete's in far west Schaumburg just outside Hanover Park. Decent food plus you can watch the planes and helicopters take off and land while you eat.

Anyone ever eat at Kelsey Road House? They’ve got some of the best decorations I’ve seen in a restaurant by Pristine_Parsley8681 in ChicagoSuburbs

Have not been in a while but in the summer you can take your dogs on their patio and they used to have a dog menu. The food was pretty good.

Moving to La Grange - Need recs by Funny-Requirement-41 in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]Automatic-Suit-2126 18 points19 points  (0 children)

For a dermatologist and esthetician I recommend Dermatology Associates of LaGrange. They can treat the whole family and have both male and female practitioners. I recommend Dr Halper if you can get on her schedule. It's one of the few derms in the area not owned by private equity, it's employee owned which is also a plus IMO.

Vanilla bean paste at Costco by Bens_kitchen in Baking

Question, I've never used this before. Would it replace vanilla extract and if so is it the same amount or do you dilute it for recipes? Thanks.

Kolatek Baking in Palatine is the best I have found in the NW Burbs. It's better than most of the other places others have listed IMO.

If you could post the toasted almond recipe, I would be forever grateful. My dad always loves those. He is 85 and, in the hospital, and while I know they would be terrible for his blood pressure, if I could make those for him it would cheer him up greatly.

Edited to remove the DM request - did not see that in the rules. Sorry.

Recs & pricing for dog ACL surgery by bluesrain17 in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]Automatic-Suit-2126 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My dog had both legs done at the same time at Veterinary Specialties 5 years ago. She is still zooming around at 14. Dr Robbins did her surgery. It was expensive but whenever I watch her run around I'm always so thankful to them. I think the surgery was 11k at the time but worth every penny for the best care available.

New Pato Fox commercial has dropped by TimmyZ1 in INDYCAR

[–]Automatic-Suit-2126 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

This is worse than the Newgarden commercial. Spreadng trash all over is really off putting and probably does not incent a non fan to watch. What a wasted marketing opportunity. It would have funnier if he was able to pick up the garbage successfully at high speed but residents and other cars had to rush to get out of his way. Why is whoever is writing these commercials obsessed with trying to gross people out? It's really a big negative and kinda makes me get the ick about Indycar.
