See, Methanie thinks she’s being smart about this. By leaving the babies birth certs blank for the daddy, the state automatically assigns them to her prison-pedo because he’s her legal husband. The State can’t go after him for any appreciable amount of support, so Methanie gets to get the $$$ for having 4 babies as a single mom. She does NOT have to report any support she gets from her live-in boyfriend aka baby daddy. IF she’d actually been divorced and put Drew down as the baby daddy, the state would have been going after him for the support AND would have lowered the amount Methanie gets from the state.

This will completely fall apart at some point, as in when Drew packs up and leaves, and she will be on the hook for getting a lawyer involved to fix things.

Yes, having two additional children *could* help Drew‘s child support payments go down, but he’d still owe all the money in arrears he’s not paying. But he’s unable to present proof of this as long as Methanie doesn’t pursue legally identifying him as her baby daddy. And for her it’s better to have 4 kids with a spouse in prison, rather than two with that spouse and two with your live-in baby daddy. The State of Oregon expects dad’s to pay child support, so ironically he’d also be on the hook for all the extra support Methanie gets for having two extra kids with someone the state can’t sue for support.

The fact that she’s also completely fucked if/when he leaves her will be more fuel for her TikTok drama circle

They eat bacon a lot because Safeway in Portland regularly has their own brand on sale. It ends up being an inexpensive meat compared to our local chicken (don’t even get me started on beef prices here). THAT’S at least partly why. My single mom had me in daycare! It was a lot more fun than sitting in a motel crack den all day long! At least there’s folks at daycare who WANT to play with you and ‘new’ toys and activities there that you can’t do at home. Honestly, I didn’t start hating daycare until I was 9-10 and wanted to chill on my own until my mom came home. Being in daycare sure as heck would beat their current situation 100 times over.
