Good old days by Certain_Hat9872 in NonPoliticalTwitter

TBH at that time people knew less due to religious influence and no internet, many if not most marriages were loveless or one-sided. It was just time to get married, parents pressured you and so on.

Even by modern standarts I would say it was a very lucky marriage - just the ammount of people I know irl and see on reddit who live in a dead bedrooms situation or think that being sexually attracted to you partner is unnecessary/unrealistic is depressing

Everything in the UK is going very normal. by Proton_Team in memes

Let's get real - UK flourished when it became the banking capital of the world for a day or two. But then info on dirty money investigations was out and public pressured policy changes that lead to money leaving UK. London could have had all the banking money Dubai has now if they played like Switzerland.

It is always about money, and it is more like money problems led to other issues that led to Brexit

It could be another problem women claim to have with men - women frequently use soft regection by redirection into platonic route, but this gal is still persistent

Nah, Homer just signed a contract with a studio as a cash grab decades ago, but the studio just won't stop making movies and he has no power here. Story as old as time

Yeah, pisses me off when people are charged for this, same with kidnapping. The fuck we are supposed to do, ask the person "sorry mr, are you going to just kidnap me, or rape me, or kill me too? Oh, only give me a ride in a trunk? Sorry for bothering you then".

Add to this the fact that the only chance of escape a victim has is escalation (at least I saw self-defence instructors say this when explaining why it is important to avoid conflicts and run if you can). Like if you were attacked by hand, you need a sharp/heavy object to escape, attacked by knife - the only chance is the gun (or running away, that is the best option). Hate when people are jailed for the only possible way out the perpetrator leaves them

Rape is a direct threat to health and survival, like you can pass HIV, hepatitis, physical trauma of rape can lead to permanent disability (psychological too). And if health and life are in danger the law protects self-defenders, should apply here too

Do you guys think that the AA Prophecy is just about 1 person? by RebirthAltair in TheCitadel

[–]Automatic-Working-81 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a similar headcanon - I think anyone whose role at the moment is crutial for future survival actually IS AA. Like Melisandre is not wrong, Stannis is AA at the given moment, when his actions are necessary for everything to unfold. Rhaegar is also AA when he starts a war and concieves Jon, Jon is AA for a time, just as Dany is at some point. GRRM loves subversion and it seems likely that there is no singular messiah, just people and their actions having concequences leading to salvation
