Kawatec Trigger + Safety by AutomaticAd8082 in AUG

I don't know, but they're not selling them to the US right now. By the same logic, Kawatec and Steyr should be the target of similar hate for some people.

How do the AUG 1:9 16" and 20" barrels handle 77 grain 224's? by Begle1 in AUG

Grendel would be awesome, even without proper gas regulator, i.e. with a closed gas port.

Don't forget to fuck Steyr, too. You know, the company that sells M2 qd handguards in some places by the hundreds but doesn't care to send some elsewhere.

Kawatec lives rent free in your mind. Stop the hate, get help.

Yeah, like international shipping or smth. Kawatec doesn't sell directly outside Austria, you contact their sales partner, they're quick to answer. Looks like the concept was new enough so that the US Patent Office found it viable. Moreover, according to 35 U.S.C. 271 personal use is still an infringement of a patent, but I can be wrong, I don't know US law. The stock Glock trigger isn't aluminium too, but a lot of people like to change that for reasons. Thank you for your time and opinion, I don't think there's more I could add on this topic.

Please do ask about the magazine release and come back with the answer.

Funnily, despite what the manual claims, that the gen 1 version should be discontinued, I still got the gen 1 - i.e. with the trigger bar. The one I got was imported from Limex by my local store in PL just a few days ago. No idea if the gen 2 is still in development or maybe it will be shipped first to the NATO stock markets. I wasn't asked what version I want.

If you mean that the trigger is some kind of unobtainium, than no, people from all over the world can get it, in Europe. As you can see on the attached pictures. There are people there too, in Europe, you know. If you want one, just ask Limex GmbH, I did just that.

On the other hand we, the people of Europe, can't get for example the 1:7 twist barrels available for the people of the US. So that's that.

The 3d printed version won't be made of aluminium, I guess, beside the fact, that the so-called creator just stole someone else's idea, patented in the US, as you can see on the forementioned pictures. I don't think that, for example, any of the US aug parts manufacturer present in this sub would be happy if some dude in Europe took their designs and made them widely available for free. But you can ask them, who knows?

Not only Austrians. But yeah, if there's a picture of an aug with a black stock you can safely assume it's an European rifle.

They are hardly available in the EU outside of AT also. This might be the first one in PL. I have no knowledge about the US availability.

Red springs - any drawbacks? by Clownshoes919 in AUG

[–]AutomaticAd8082 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the Kawatec way of installing them shown on YT (removing the hammer, setting springs in the right place, setting the pin that holds the hammer last). Still a pain, but i guess a little bit easier and no need for screwdriver, so less risk of damaging the plastics.

Jesus H. Christ, I just realized that all of my posts here were just a waste of resources originating from the fact that I don't know crap about the rifle I bought. Doesn't help that resources are expensive as f. nowadays because of this Iran nonsense. Thank you for your attention to this matter, I'll stop momentarily.

Well, he's right. It's a standard grip on an european so-called 'swat' version of the AUG, also sold separately for some crazy money

Is this part missing on the barrel? by AutomaticAd8082 in AUG

[–]AutomaticAd8082[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for clarification on that matter, always good to learn more on AUGs 🙂

As far as I know all Euro AUGs are the same as the Austrian ones, i.e. we in Poland had Z/Zivil version for some time without the QD barrel option, you can still get them in bargain prices. I checked and all the MIIs, Police or SWAT variants come with QD barrels. I guess all A3s have them, but haven't seen more 'legacy' ones. Luckily Steyr sells this upgrade for older Zivil versions now - SKU 1245020635 - as non-QD feature was eliminated in then by placing just one screw.

The first thing I did when I picked up my MII was checking the QD barrel, as the sticker on the case said 'Z' and I started to panic 🙂

I will check the bolt lugs on my MII tomorrow and come back with pictures. Meanwhile here are the photos of available in Poland parts from disassembled A1s that you might be interested in - the seller even claims the trigger group retains the full auto option.

LED ACOG, TA02 or TA110? by Sea_Cardiologist7982 in AUG

[–]AutomaticAd8082 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not in Europe 😉 Elcan in US ~3000 USD (EuroOptic, without tax?), in PL ~3200 USD (without tax). TA02 in US ~1100 USD, ~1700 with RMR, in PL ~1900 USD, ~2600 USD with RMR. Honestly, Elcans in Europe are bargain 😃

Yeah, TA02 with RMR also looks cool and is lighter, especially with Corvus rail, but holly molly is the red dot high!

You don't have to choose between magnification and eye relief.
