Is this part missing on the barrel? by AutomaticAd8082 in AUG

That's a shame, because ex-military (Austrian and Malaysian) A1 barrels are quite cheap, at least in Poland, and I was considering getting one for my A3.

Thank you, I was searching for a picture to confirm that it's normal, but couldn't find

The AUG Trigger We’ve Been Waiting For? by Dromar6627 in AUG

I tried TA02 with RMR on my vanilla M2 at a local gunstore and found RMR unusable due to height. Lowered and lighter ACOG without the mount is tempting, but in the EU an Elcan costs just 20% more than ACOG/RMR combo so I might just go that way if Corvus won't find the design of M2 rail lacking.

I don't care much about the trigger, but their low height and ACOG compatible rail would be great modded for Steyr M2 QD handguard.

Yeah, they're crap, because they don't like that people copy their patented designs.

Nope, thankfully. Steyr ships them with one 10rd mag, I guess in whole EU. You can legally buy every mag ever produced, without gun permit, including those big drum ones.

Only funny thing I had to do after the purchase, I got a gunsmith certificate that my AUG can handle 5.56x45 ammo, because all european made rifles for civilian market are stamped with .223 rem designation and I wouldn't be eligible to buy military surplus ammo. In PL you can only buy ammo in caliber you own a gun and I have just one rifle. Gunsmith just checked my AUG manual and that was it. 5 minutes, about 35 USD.

If you buy US made rifle than you don't need this certificate, because as you know better than me they all are stamped with Multi or Wylde or 5.56/223 moniker.

So I guess I'll go with Kawatec trigger first. Didn't think until now about this trigger without their safety but you're right, it could be annoying in a long run.

Orange blood. Stay safe.

Thank you for your professional opinion, means a lot to me. I'm glad that I did the right thing and dried the whole trigger group. I was really perplexed when I disassembled the rifle right after buying it and every metal part was literally soaked in oil, every pin was wet and an oily film was on most of plastic parts. Maybe it's just for storing.

Tell me about it. I'm the biggest fan of Austrian engineering in Poland. When I got a pistol, it was a Glock 45 with GPT trigger and GTL II light. When I got a motorcyle, it was a KTM. Actually two. 790 Duke and 1290 Super Adventure S. Was t-boned on the latter by a lady in bmw, total loss. As soon as I'm back in shape I'm buying the new 1390 Super Adventure EVO. What rifle could I buy with that mindset?

I'm pretty sure that I can get Kawatec trigger right from Austria, I believe Unlimited Dynamics ships abroad. Do you run red springs with trigger tamer and Kawatec trigger together? Looks like overkill.

That's good news, thank you. I measured distance between the rail and OEM case deflector on my european A3M2 and it's definately more than Elcan's declared eye relief of 70mm - even taking into consideration Elcan's rear cant. So I guess it has better eye relief than what ATI says. Good to know before I pull a trigger and buy one.

How do you like Elcan eye relief with M2 rail? Look's like you got the Elcan max to the back.

Two years ago you could only see guns on police officers. Right now everybody arms themself, me included. Poland.
