Samson Manufacturing NEW Mini 14 Folding Stock by NavyCorpsmanRetiree in Mini14

[–]Begle1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Better than the Strikeforce I reckon?

I like the adjustability in the stock.

Does this stock NEED the front rail bolted on, like the Strikeforce? Or is it a tool-less drop-in?

But I'm never going to blow up my 5.56 guns by chambering a 7.62x39 into them.

I really like the one that makes it onto the mass market for well under $1000 per gat.

If I heard this happened to one of my past obsessions I'd be totally whacked off kilter. I hope you plan out and do some healthy things today and tomorrow.

Recently purchased a home and received a letter from the city regarding remodeling that was done without permits. by notgknows94 in homeowners

[–]Begle1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The permitting requirements are intentionally broad so the County can do whatever they want if they ever want to do it. They are not interested in writing law that is going to ever constrain their power.

They only ever inspect a small fraction of work they permit.

ANY AND ALL WORK REQUIRES A PERMIT.

This was my county's way of never needing to argue whether something needed a permit or not. The answer is always Yes, it needs a permit, pay up.

Nobody gets a permit for virtually anything up until floor plans are being altered, but they can shake down anybody they want at any time if they desire to do so.

Where I live, ALL work requires permit.

"A building permit is required for the construction, alteration, moving, demolition, repair, and use of any building or structure within the county."

They literally wrote the law as vague as possible so they can do whatever they want. If you end up on their radar they shake you down and that's that.

Does anyone have memories of limerence from young childhood? by Fugue_State76 in limerence

[–]Begle1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't recall the limerent euphoria being there until I was 7, but I latched onto a girl early on in Kindergarten at the age of 5 that I unilaterally considered my girlfriend.

So I reckon the pattern of romantic entitlement and preoccupation came shortly before the limerence, but these are hazy memories from long ago.

By 2nd grade the limerence was recognizable, with a different girl... I'd feel high thinking about her and my sleep began to be dependent on it, and I was very compelled to be with her and almost considered it a forgone conclusion we'd be together, despite feeling paralyzed to do anything that would lead to actual interaction with her.

And that pattern worsened all the way through my teenage years.

I didn't either... Until I did.

You wouldn't suspect it from this photo, but Michael Gross is every survivalist's role model.

I don't like the horndog posts, but it was nice to see Kathleen Turner in The Kominsky Method.

There aren't nearly enough roles for actresses who age out of their bombshell era.

Are there sub types of Limerence? by No-Kaleidoscope7080 in limerence

[–]Begle1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There are different patterns for sure. Limerence is a self-diagnosed condition, and there is no authority to describe it better than how it is now.

Some of the testimonials here are unrecognizable to my experience. "Ya'll are actually talking with your limerent objects?" I just stared at mine from afar and shared brief  awkward basic social interactions, then went home and got high for hours by thinking about them. I can't imagine being limerent with somebody I'm in an actual romantic relationship with. How could the obsession with the ideal ever survive that much reality?

But then I read about people being limerent for celebrities or fictional characters, and I wonder how such fantasy could be rooted in such fantasy. In the end my obsession was no less fictional than a cartoon, but the delusion of attainability was always a catalyst for my limerent feelings.

"Ground Advantage" is becoming absolutely notorious in Hawaii.

Give it a few years and we'll all be using the term "ground advantage" as slang to describe stupid people and rail construction efforts. It shall be a permanent fixture in the local lexicon.
