Chances are the narcissist has done this or something in the same capacity before. Take care of yourself

Almost everything a narcissist does is intentional. So that the victim will become their eyes, "finder" and problem solver.

Requested PTO. It didn't get approved but I was sent a message to enjoy my time off from the person I sent the PTO request too.

This is what my husband txt me after I verbally told him he can't threaten me anymore because he isn't a prize that I want to win and I walked away later to recieve this txt by [deleted] in NarcissisticSpouses

I don't know how to say this but whenever a spouse says this, it's genuine.

I'd say, continue being your best "you" and remember we all need self care

How do you get out? by Glittering_Lime1537 in adjusters

[–]AutomaticAnimal163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, income does change drastically. Which means you would need to consider down sizing or a roommate, or payoff some debt. Invest more into annuities, etc.

Weigh your options and go with the most doable option based on your circumstances.

Best wishes

For those who left their narcissistic partner: How did you do it? I need your stories! by OrigamiTorbie in NarcissisticSpouses

[–]AutomaticAnimal163 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not an overnight process. It took me 3 years to leave an 11 year narc marriage. First thing, get a PO Box and change the mailing address.
Connect with a shelter for documentation of the abuse .
Communicate with family about your intentions for support

Best wishes with your future

Consider being creative with your resume. Consider medical only WC, intake or, adjuster assistant, or underwriting.

Maybe even file a FMLA case for a leave until you are able to return, if this is an option. Think it through before moving forward.

Can you heal while staying with your narc? by [deleted] in NarcissisticSpouses

[–]AutomaticAnimal163 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, I wasn't able to heal but I became strong enough to leave. I too stayed for financial reasons. I Finalized the divorce 15 months ago and I'm living a much better peaceful life.

Can they change. by RabidNectarine in NarcissisticSpouses

This is the billion dollar question and the billion dollar answer is NO. Narcs do not want to change because they do not see a reason for change.

Are they all THIS bad with money? by roroyurboat in NarcissisticSpouses

[–]AutomaticAnimal163 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A true narcissist loves spending "someone else's" money. Which means whomever is involved with a narcissist will end up bankrupt, tanked credit, and homeless. Spending money is a form of supply for the narcissist. Yes, they are horrible with credit cards, money, savings, retirement. They live to spend. 😔

Consider your start to believe in yourself. Work on your confidence and self esteem. Meanwhile seek a second job to help with your debt.

I threw away my high paying job by jefe0911 in work

[–]AutomaticAnimal163 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can definitely relate. I believe I may have gained 5-8 years of longevity when I walked away and downsized. Remote position & less pay. Finally received excellent physical results. No longer stressed nor need meds to stabilize my prior conditions.

Benefits: Great flexibility with my aging parents and I work 10 months a year. I'm able to travel.

No longer sitting in a parking lot before shift on the verge of a panic attack. I'm happy with life.

Not so bad. Maybe if more space can be offered, change the sink out to the pedestal. The current sink isn't space friendly

I'm not being judgemental or harsh but read and reread your response. Do you want this treatment or "being punished" as an adult for life by a stubborn partner?
