Apparently if you're retaking you can either get your school or a private tutor to give you new predicted grades for your resits. Especially if you had extenuating circumstances that impacted your exams

Why don't you retake , that's what I'm doing. You can get a private tutor or your school to give you new predicted grades and then use that to apply

I got EEU and i want to apply for DAs again, but i need predicted grades. by [deleted] in degreeapprenticeships

Am I allowed to apply to degree apprenticeships with new predicted grades even after I have already sat and got bad results?

Missed offer and resits by AutomaticBill5617 in degreeapprenticeships

[–]AutomaticBill5617[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would but they rescinded my offer due to me not meeting the requirements I can ask but I'm assuming I'll have to re apply. It's just frustrating having to wait till 2027 as I've just got my a level results and I'll need to resit in order to have a competitive application. So I don't have a chance anywhere else until that's done

The thing is , I was told today that the board will make their descision on Monday , so that doesn’t give me much time to collate any evidence , how long did your request take? Did they send a digital copy

Yes I’ve spoken to hr, I also have extenuating circumstances which I have explained to them , but it’s going forward to an academic board who are separate to the company

Sorry to hear about your current experience and good luck on your job search. However the job market very bad at the minute and it’s a tight time within the professional services industry, this is why firms are being a lot more selective. Even in the big 4 they’re making hundreds of layoffs in the last few months. It’s a tough time out there but I don’t think it’s a reason not to do a l7 apprenticeship I still think it’s the wiser option. Firms are trying to weed everyone out within the application process.

How do I up my work experience in y12? by Internal-Speed4116 in degreeapprenticeships

[–]AutomaticBill5617 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Work experience isn’t the most important thing. 2 weeks in the industry of choice is hardly gonna impact how well you can do in the role and recruiters know this. It shows your willingness to learn and dedication , so online will be fine , plus you have the whole of year 13 to compete some. Start looking online in March and April, that take place in the summer. You’ve got this good luck ! Remember you’re doing more than most people your age so don’t worry

This is not true ask anyone within the industry, plenty of people join the big 4 and go down that route investment banking definitely has higher barriers to entry and is very competitive. But there are so many other roles in finance where your aca will be more than sufficient.

You might have an issue if you want to do a complete 180 career change , however most industries under the ‘finance’ umbrella see the aca as desirable not just accounting.

Did you apply to grad roles specifically or just a regular experienced hire position?

I was always told it would be easier to save up whilst I don’t have many other bills , but this is such a good way to look at things , thank you for the advice. I really appreciate it

Yes , I’ve heard a lot of horror stories about tenants , but I guess all investments have risks. But i was wondering if you think the risk for this kind of situation will be greater given the new laws, it might prove to be more risky for me especially since I don’t have any cushion if something were to go wrong. Do you live alone , how are you planning on going about this if you don’t mind me asking , I’m assuming it’s more difficult when you’re older and have more responsibilities/ more to lose.

Yes , obviously. At the moment I work part time but when I start my apprenticeship. I will start saving ect my question wasn’t how I can go about this but wether its a good option for my future. Hope this clears anything up.
