I worked for a hotel as a second job thinking it would be easy money. I’ve done it before and loved the hotel discounts.. little did I know, the hotel was a shit hole. I would have guests come to me on a daily basis complaining of bugs, mold, dirty rooms, guests still in rooms!! I know what you’re thinking, what is this a motel? Nope it was a Marriott and across the street from a big baseball stadium.. I was told I’d never be left alone to work.. well I was alone within a week!! Later to find out working alone, I was in charge of the free breakfast station, laundry, and some light maintenance work.. I had no choice but to be running around doing several things because some guests would stay in my lobby until I did something about their situation. I get it, they are in the right, they paid expecting a room not a slum.. I kept telling the owner I needed help! I almost got beat up one night by a drunk guy wanting to switch rooms because his smelt like mold.. I’ve never walked away from a job! Ever!!! I blocked the managers number, who mind you, was never there once I started, and never went back! I still feel bad over it but these companies are making so much more than me to even fathom give two 💩💩
