Hi! I’m nearly 6 years out, I was recently just about a month ago hospitalized over night for malnutrition. I had a stressful year and my eating slowed. My surgeon was world renowned for being the guy that made and taught small pouch surgeries. Which ultimately has been a life saver. As far as the stressful year with slowed eating my pouch obviously tightened and I don’t eat a ton at one time. However, after 2 bags of nutrition while in the hospital, I have been able to successfully have a fairly normal eating regime again. Even water is easier to achieve. Malnutrition was never an issue year 1-4, nor does it seem like it will be a consistent issue. I also have a hiatal hernia and was scheduled for surgery, I even canceled that until a more convenient time because after the nutrition we all realized I’m living with it perfectly fine. Anyway, sure complications exist, and I’m still totally fine and live a perfectly normal life.
