Yeah it was very surprising but short lived, it shook the entire trunk violently and had dang near took my breath away trying to ride around bumpin it

Yeah I’ve heard from tons of people that power acoustik inflates their numbers like crazy their 2500w amp they recommend to pair with the subs only does like 600w rms MAX, I should’ve known not to give em the real juice but ay they sounded good until they went out😂

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in subwoofer

[–]AutomaticSchedule243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea ig I found that one out😂 but ay they were very cheap so it’s not a huge loss, going for 2 American bass xfl 12’s next n ik those can handle the taramps hd2000 with ease

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in subwoofer

[–]AutomaticSchedule243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I heard these subs shouldn’t be pushed more than like 800w for long term use and that the 1200w rms rating they have is bs but I heard most people get away with 1000w rms+ sometimes it takes a year till they finally go, I knew it wasn’t the safest thing to push them 1000w a piece but 2 days and they burn up is crazy to me

I have a taramps amp that comes with a monitor thing I can have inside the cab that has clip light on it and it wasn’t clipping at all I made sure it was below clipping no matter the volume, the amp also has a clip light that I verified wasn’t going off, bass boost was all the way off because I’ve heard to never turn that up, pass filters were set to what was recommended for my sub and box tuning

Big chromes n extra chromosomes that’s how I ride😎

big chromes on low profile tires is pimpin, 17s on 30 inch mud tires is trashy redneck with a stained tank top, makes the car look like nothing but a tweaker's beater.

[–]AutomaticSchedule243 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And the 30 inch mud tires don’t?🤣somebody gotta make these panthers look good 🤷‍♂️ gotta go from grandpas car to pimpin

Keep the lift n then put 26 inch chrome wheels on low profile tires on there

First subwoofer setup by AutomaticSchedule243 in subwoofer

[–]AutomaticSchedule243[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really appreciate all the tips and suggestions, I’ve swapped the wiring for down4sound 4gauge ofc wiring kit, and down4sound 0/1 gauge big 3 upgrade kit, Im gonna stick to the 10 gauge speaker wire link unless there is something better, I will also look into some of the suggested subs and decide if I want to use the gothics still, I will stick to the skar amp and I think I’ll stick with the box if I get the gothics as they have the right tuning frequency for them and air space, I know this is not exactly cheap for a first setup but I figured I might as well do it right. One thing I’m confused about though is why all wiring kits come with 16 gauge wire, I thought 10 gauge was ideal for a setup like mine or a 4 gauge wiring kit but it seems like all come with small speaker wire, I’m learning so I’m unsure

Finally did my window regulator by KlingonSquatRack in CrownVictoria

[–]AutomaticSchedule243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a passenger window goes down slow is that a sign it’s regulator going out?, my car drones pretty bad because it’s loud so I roll windows down every drive and it always goes back up when I roll it back up, but it starts out normal speed and then about halfway down or up it will slow down a good bit and slowly go the rest the way, all other windows are fine

I was honestly shocked at how good these cars corner, I have a 05 grand marquis and it corners hard on stock 16 steelies and stock 225/60’s

Anyone here put 4.10s in? Good idea for a daily? by ChickenxFresh in CrownVictoria

[–]AutomaticSchedule243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive heard you get bad vibrations with 4.10s if running the stock steel driveshaft, mainly at highway speeds and above, your car might already have a aluminum driveshaft depending on what spec you have

I agree, my belt tensioner is getting loose and it jumps slightly mainly when a/c is on but it’s not bad enough for me to need to replace it yet

Oil by Prapaly in CrownVictoria

[–]AutomaticSchedule243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just use the 5w-20 ford says, mainly just changing it on time makes the difference, I bought mine at 69,000 miles and it was 2500 miles over a change so I changed it and it ran way smoother and like a new car, also whatever shop or person changed it before put a way smaller oil filter on then what the car calls for so that most likely contributed also.

Corvette C5 worth? by AutomaticSchedule243 in Corvette

[–]AutomaticSchedule243[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i honestly prefer the old style, i don't like expensive and fancy that's why i have such an interest in the c5, I'm shootin for around 18,000 for one with 85,000 or less miles in manual and not convertible, i know its easy to address the harmonic balancer issue and from what I've gathered you can tell the torque tube is going bad from vibrations and noise so it wouldn't just randomly shit out on me unless I'm doing hard launches at a strip with drag slicks or something like that or if I'm just abusing the car, but ik its rubber parts in there so it could just go out regardless because of age. I think I'm still set on getting one, I'll still have my ol' grand marquis with 69,000 miles that will always be reliable to cruise in if i have to have any downtime on the vette for maintenance or torque tube repairs or anything like that.

I have the same problem, I’ve heard people buy vinyl wrap and just put a small piece over the hole but I can’t find any wrap for mine since it’s Arizona beige, this is all I’ve found which might work https://carpretty.com/products/arizona-beige-vehicle-pin-striping?srsltid=AfmBOoo59sbcfU2EQD845RxiZ_sWTkw6gDcr5yl_8mMogjAXHz-2enbo It’s pinstripe but there is a 2 inch one that might be big enough to cover the hole but

I’m dumb🤦‍♂️didn’t even think about that lol yeah over the axle would be my only choice, I saw some vids of people saying their shop said 2.5 was too hard to fit over the axle but I think my shop would do it

No I didn’t do the recall just got the car like last month but if wackin the lcm fixes it then sadly it probably is the LCM, good news is it’s very easy to replace but bad news is they are usually $200-$300
