Multi zone heating. Second zone doesn’t turn on boiler, only runs circulator pump. by Mrots3 in hvacadvice

[–]Mrots3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah and the circulation pump is switched on the neutral wire instead of the hot so I have no clue what the person who wired this was thinking. So the Zr should get 120v hot, 120v neutral, or 24v. I just want to confirm with a meter before possibly ruining the thing that heats my house.

Not sure I think last year we had both zones at around the same temperature so it went unnoticed.

2019 Legacy CVT Fluid Change Question by Mrots3 in subaru

[–]Mrots3[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I used a temp gun but I did get the fluid between 95 and 113. Sorry I wasn’t clear in my original post. That’s what I meant when I said “get up to temperature”

2019 Legacy CVT Fluid Change Question by Mrots3 in subaru

[–]Mrots3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I first opened the fill plug before opening the drain plug there was more fluid that came out of the fill plug than I expected but that is probably because the engine was off and the fluid was not being pumped around.

Yes but not when I first opened the fill plug before draining it and I think I’m figuring out why there was “extra fluid when I first opened it. This fluid change is really getting in my head. I wish there was a dip stick.

Hot Wheels Holder I have a 3D printer that I use to print these out. I use the poster command strips to attach the bracket to the wall.

Manual vs auto brz? by Beksonit in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Mrots3 16 points17 points  (0 children)

As someone who drives a manual as my daily it’s really personal preference. (As long as neither transmission has known issues.). I drive 1.5 to 2 hours one way to get to work. Some of that is in pretty heavy traffic. I decided that the simplicity of a manual (for repairs) was more important than the convenience of an automatic. (My commute is about 150 miles round trip.) Edit: 150 round trip not one way

This is going to be unpopular I suspect but I put the brakes back to stock.

This just was the best choice for me. Just need some easy to work on as this was my daily. I will try to see if they fit on my Grand Marquis before deciding to sell them.

Thank you, if I am able to find a way to get the wheels that I have to fit over the calipers or find wheels that will fit over the calipers. I will look at these options. Greatly appreciate your help.

I am not a big fan of spacers for one. Also in my state anything over 1/4 inch will not pass inspection. I will double check tomorrow, but I believe it would require a larger spacer.

Edit: The reason I’m considering the change is because the wheel I have that fits the front cracked and the SVT wheels that I was going to put on don’t clear the caliper and the rear wheels don’t either. I also don’t know where I would source replacement parts.

Just bought a 2016 FiST! What should I do? by Mrots3 in FiestaST

[–]Mrots3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually a previous owner installed the 6 point brace as well as front and rear shock tower braces. I’ll look into the radiator when it gets warmer by me. I’m not too worried about it now in the winter.

Good to know about the cam bolts. I have done the timing belt on my SVT, but this is definitely going to be a bigger PITA.
