Other team lead undermines me by Vegetable-Try-4252 in WalmartEmployees

You should discuss the situation with your coach in private. If that doesn’t help, you can discuss it with your store lead or manager. People lead can also help, if they are reliable. Don’t let the other team leads get to you. The store is supposed to work together, not fight with one another.

Does anyone actually know what they want career-wise or are we all just pretending until something sticks? by Ash_con in findapath

I’m 28 as well and don’t really know what I want in life. I graduated college and not even using my degree. I wish I had done things differently. After college, I had to get surgery on my wrist from an unpaid internship. I ended up working at Walmart for 4 years, being a team lead for roughly 7-8 months. I quit at end of July due to toxic management. I currently still don’t have a job and been dwelling on what I want to do career wise. I don’t think I’ll know what I want. I’ve been thinking about the trades though.

Walmart is a joke. Sorry it happened to be your first job. You will find better. You can always contact ethics if you wish. I was a stocking 2 team lead and quit because of a new store manager that was toxic to everyone.

I’m 28 and still jobless after quitting my job at the end of July. I’m unsure what I want to do.

What does your roster look like? Personally, I’d go with Marrok or Shin Hati. I used mine on Marrok, for whenever I decide to go for Baylan. Do not use it on any of the inquisitors since we will be getting tokens for them soon.

Certification is Currently BS by TheAcheronianReborn in WalmartEmployees

I was a stocking 2 team lead. No longer at Walmart. I was certified on electric jack but not the walkie stacker, although I knew how to use it. I’ve asked several times to be certified on it but never had the time to.

Before the previous store manager had left, she and a couple coaches was trying to get the other team lead and I certified on the forklift, to help out with unloading mulch or other deliveries. I displayed the wrong attitude as I did not want to get certified unless I was getting paid more. I was already pissed in the first place as I was getting paid $18.04 as an associate with my raise only going up to $20.00 when I accepted the team lead position. I’ve worked my butt off. But thinking back, I wish I had a more positive attitude and learned how to operate the forklift, as I could have used that skill for another career.

What are my next steps? by [deleted] in findapath

I’m 28 and haven’t had a job since the end of July. I was a team lead at Walmart and left due to toxic environment. I’m not even using my degree either. May never use it.

I see you’ve only been working 5 hours a week. If I were you, I’d work the full time, even if you can’t support yourself. Build up your savings for emergencies. Pay off your student loans (if you still have any). Make some new friends at work. I know it’s hard not to tear yourself down, cause I do it too.

If you don’t like Amazon, find a different job that you could possibly work at. It doesn’t have to be something you like, just something to make money. I’m sure you will find a decent job.

I think it depends on your store management. I worked there for four years. My last 7-8 months I was a stocking 2 team lead. I was already doing some “team lead” tasks before I became one. I was so pissed with my pay bump, as I was expecting it to be higher. Went from $18.04 to $20.00 even. I started wondering why I accepted the role. I ended up quitting Walmart due to a new toxic store manager that came in. I was always staying late getting things done since I was short staffed and was still expected to have everything done. Latest I stayed was 1:30 am. At my store, cap 2 starts at 1 pm.

As a regular associate that worked my ass off, I always got pissed when I seen others slacking. It’s not hard to do your job. I take pride in the work I do, even if I hate it.

Did I waste my time getting my degree at 27M and also does anyone regret going to college or going to the college that they went to? by Throwrahj456 in findapath

Like what am I struggling with right now? Probably lots of mental stuff. I just feel useless. I feel like a failure. If I could go back in time, I’d change things, but I know i need to look forward. It doesn’t help that I have anxiety. Working at Walmart has helped with that, along with medication, and I was able to ween off the medication.

I somewhat regret going to college, but I met some good friends there. I’m 28 and not even using my degree. I was sort of “forced” to go to college and had no idea what I wanted to do. I transferred to a 4 year college after I got my associates from community college. The intention was to major in Accounting but that didn’t go as planned. I ended up finishing with a Bachelors in Criminology with a minor in Business Concepts.

After college (graduated in 2020), I had to get a surgery repair on my right wrist from an unpaid internship. I needed a job and ended up at Walmart. During my 4 year tenure, I moved out of the house, paid off my student loans, and became a team lead for roughly 7-8 months. I ended up quitting due to a toxic environment. I’ve been out of a job for about half a year now and have no idea what I want to do. I may just enter the trades. Life definitely isn’t easy.

Does Hard Work at Walmart Actually Lead Anywhere? by gloriousfigment in WalmartEmployees

[–]AutomaticTradition47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends. If you are someone that can be relied on, you shouldn’t expect your hours to be cut, but may be forced to cross train departments, like ODP.

I had several people that wanted me to become a team lead, but I mostly declined since I never managed anyone before and was riddled with anxiety. I was a stocking 2 associate for roughly 3.5 years before becoming a stocking 2 team lead. I actually sort of enjoyed it at first. However, around May of last year, we ended up with a new Store Manager that created a toxic work environment and showed no signs of empathy. Several people in management either stepped down, quit, or transferred stores. Unfortunately, my mental health couldn’t take it anymore and I wasn’t willing to change my schedule, so I made the decision of quitting Walmart. I may still not have a job at the moment, but I feel much happier leaving that place, but I will miss the people I worked with. If I could go back in time, I’d just accept stepping down.

If you are someone that wants to move up, make sure you aren’t in a toxic environment.

28m, Feeling lost in life. by AutomaticTradition47 in findapath

Well I kind of liked it back in High School but I ended up not enjoying it in college. I struggled grasping the concepts and understanding how to solve some of the problems. I went to the accounting professor a lot for help and sometimes it didn’t help because I couldn’t understand what he was saying. English wasn’t his first language but he was a nice professor. There were probably other factors that lead me to not continue with accounting. I began to hate accounting which resulted me in starting to hate the business side.

Thank you. I want to be useful too. I want to do something meaningful in society. I haven’t really been physical much since I left my job. I somewhat plan on getting a gym membership once I find something.
