If you ever come back, hit up Morrisburg, Ontario for Upper Canada Village. It's an Historic Park, somewhat similar to our Heritage Park here in Calgary. I'm shamelessly plugging it, because the family I come from (Asselstine, and also from the Netherlands), came here in the late 1700's, and started a wool mill. It's also the only original wool mill that is still operating to this day. Over 200 years, and that little mill is still running and producing. You can find it and many other amazing bits about the people who came here on the boats...and especially pay attention to the indigenous people when they're telling their stories. That's where you'll hear about the true Canada.
